We stayed at the Hardrock Vallarta from February 20 through March 2. We had stayed at this resort two years ago when it was a Palace resort. Check in was very smooth, but we did end up with a room with two double beds instead of a King. Minor inconvenience, was putting on a waiting list for a different room but never heard back from the front desk. During our last visit to this resort as a Palace, the food was the best at any resort we have stayed at during the last nine years of our Mexico vacations. Now I would have to classify it as average. They do advertise 5 restaurants, but every night one and usually two of them were closed. Our favorites were the Italian and Asian. The service at the pool area was great and Antonio at the Italian was outstanding. Also Oliver was amazing for activities as he was there for the bike tour at 10 and still going strong at the shows at 10 at night. The beach is great for long walks. The music… We read negative reports on the music and I have to say they were correct. I am a big fan of rock n roll, but from breakfast to dinner blaring music was a bit much. We had a hard time talking at meals due to the loud music. We would not stay at a Hardrock again, but will go back to the Palace resorts.
