“Pleasantly Surprised!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

I had to take back what I thought this stay was going to be like for my sister in laws wedding. I had no expectations, however I am sooooooo pleased to say that I was not expecting the service we received at this resort. The positives: Awesome pool side service! Called Princess the whole time and definately treated like one. Pool was great! Family friendly environment....mellow pools for adults available. Great, totally unbusy beach front great for boogie boarding. Wait staff were prompt and spoke english very well. Food was delicious and selection was reasonable. Over all we were very pleased! The wedding was lovely.

Cons: 2 beds cemented to the floor when we wanted a king.
Night life poor; very family friendly resort. Everything shuts down around 10PM. Night club wasnt even open on a saturday night.

However, I would recommend this resort to friends who love pools and poolside service.

This was our 1st stay here and we cannot wait to go back. We did a golf package with a junior suite and breakfast included and were pleasantly surprised at everything at this resort. Considering the cost of golf this was a great deal. We were in the Uxmal building with an oceanfront view. The room was very clean - actually the entire resort was very clean. They do a great job at keeping this resort so clean, it is amazing considering all the people staying here. Even the public restrooms that everyone uses during the day coming from the beach and pool area. We have stayed in Nuevo area before and nothing comes close. It is nice to have options for eating and the mall with other options in walking distance.
We never had to fight for chairs or towels. For the people who want front row on the beach I get the 6 am. Since we are golfers we would come out in the early afternoon and never had a problem. So do not let the comments about fighting for beach chairs scare you. You will always find a chair and able to get a beach towel. We were there during a busy winter break week.
The staff was always attentive and helpful. I loved the fact I did not have to get off my beach chair to get food or drink. Edgar was always there to provide great service to us.
Every evening was a theme night with a buffet. We only did the Mexican Fiesta, it was alot of fun and very well worth the money. For 48 pesos, they included entertainment, buffet, unlimited cocktails(not stingy). The only con was most of the food on the buffet was cold. We just stuck with what was hot and salads and tequila. Very worth it.
We found check in and check out to be very convienient. When checking in we left our luggage with the bellman and went golfing. Came back and everything was in our room. I liked the fact I could call down on our departure day and the bellman came promptly at the time we requested. We usually do our own luggage, but with golf clubs and all.
Juan Carlo was great at check in and he gave us a lovely room. He was very helpful during our stay as everyone else was also.
I book travel and look forward to selling this resort with confidence. I checked out some other resorts while we were there and this would be my 1st choice. I welcome any questions people may have.
Thanks again for a great stay! See you next year.

Our first visit to PV was 15 years ago and we stayed at Paradise Village with an Apple vacation. A couple more Apple trips later and we purchased a timeshare. Every time we go, we get "welcomed home" by the staff. I love the privacy the the resort has and the proximity to groceries and other necessities. The beach is beautiful and the only drawback is the frequency the beach vendors disturb your relaxation. When we use the spa, it is always enjoyable and reasonably priced compared to US pricing. You can buy drink tickets that make drinks (beer, pina coladas or margaritas) the equivalent of $3 apiece. I'm sure the rooms aren't as fancy as some of the other resorts, but they serve our needs just fine. A larger and more comfortable bed would be preferable and this is my only complaint regarding the facility. The staff does pressure you to take meetings to upgrade or increase your membership and saying no repeatedly does get old, but its no worse than the continuous hounding you get in town from all the other vendors.

We just spent a month at Paradise Village, what can I say other than it was perfect!! I guess the hi-light was the birth of four baby bengal tigers! When you arrive the staff remembers you from past years, they are always very helpful and so friendly. The only bit of an issue is the early time you need to get to the beach to reserve a spot in the front row. We had to go down at 6 am and was lucky to even get a place. If you choose to eat in any of the surrounding restaurants which I do encourage you to do so.. the taxi fair is always 35 pesos. Thanks again to all the staff we will see you again next year.

Room Tip: Marina view is nice and alot cheaper

LOVE this family place. Staff is SO friendly. Continue to come back year after year? The entire staff are so helpful and friendly. Good food, good location and just an AWESOME place !!!!!
Continue to come back year after year and NOT haunted by timeshare people;-). Take a cab from airport and no need to leave except a clean safe cab into town which the hotel has!!!! Just saying ;-)

Room Tip: Coba building facing marina is the most peaceful!!!!!!!

February is a wonderful time to visit Mexico! When it's snowing 2 feet back home, you will find us basking in the warm, 80 degree sunshine. The days are just hot enough to remind you that spring is around the corner, and the nights are mild.

We have been coming to Paradise Village for 5 years now, with a large group of friends and have always had exceptional service, wonderful food, safe surroundings and the biggest decision we have to make is where to order lunch and when to have the first pina colada! :)

All the rooms have a small kitchen to store cold beverages and snack food. Next door is a mall with coffee shops, retail and, best of all, a Super Mercado, to buy those snacks. (In the mornings, they offer the BEST fresh, baked goods... you have to try them!)

The beach is always clean, the surf is safe enough for kids, but active enough for boogie boarding. And you can walk for miles through the shallows and see the other resorts.
The hotel beach also offers enough "palapas" for a little shade, beach chairs, towels, boogie board rentals, volleyball, and, my personal favorite, a few strolling vendors that I can make a deal with (but nothing annoying). And then, there's the sunset, my favorite time of day, which never disappoints!

Tired of the beach? (Can't imagine it...but...) there are also 3 beautiful pools with lots of water games hosted by the hotel. I even saw a group learning to scuba dive when we were there! They have 3 very nice hot tubs to relax in any time day or night.

You can find it all at Paradise Village, including a small "zoo" complete with tigers and colorful parrots. They even used to have ostriches! They ran loose on the property and were a little unpredictable... hilarity ensued! They also have tennis courts, so bring your rackets! The grounds are lavish and there is a beautiful marina on one side to admire yachts from around the world.

The rooms are clean and well appointed. The maids are wonderful and add a few special touches now and then; with rose petals or some fun flourish. Remember to tip them daily! The only annoyance is "they don't do dishes" (I need this notice at MY house) -so, either do your own (they don't supply dish soap though) OR pay the maid a little extra and ask her to do them each day.

Check-in and Check-out is ALWAYS "not-very-efficient", anywhere I have gone in Mexico. Just plan on it, lower your stress level, by lowering the bar a little and SLOW DOWN... you are on vacation now! They offer an optional, all-inclusive package at the hotel, we have never done it, so if you don't do it- hold on to your receipts for charges you make, so that you know what to expect at the end. Also know that the all-inclusive deal is "all-in" or "all-out"- in other words, everyone in your party does it or no one does it.

Going into Puerto Vallarta is easy by taxi. There are a lot of great restaurants downtown and they have the traditional mercado (shopping area) to go find those trinkets you can't live without. For a little adventure, take the "water taxi" into town- one way is sufficient.

Bucerias is a small town nearby with great shopping and fun restaurants. It's a fun place to explore for a day. We have also taken surfing lessons further north in the Punta del Burro area, just ask the concierge to arrange this... Tip: make sure you have water shoes, a swim shirt as a rash guard, towels, lots of sunscreen and know that there isn't any shade! The hotel can also arrange for fishing trips and snorkel/scuba trips. The hotel even has a few grills available to cook up your "catch of the day", if you are so inclined.

To Sum it up... (finally).... Paradise Village is a GREAT resort for families, couples or anyone looking for a great, safe place to relax in the sun for a while.
(One last thing... we have never gotten sick from the water here. I don't know if this is an issue anymore, but we safely use the ice and drink water in the restaurants with no worries.)

We are back at Paradise Village and just can't say enough about how great it is to be back. I am amazed how many of the staff recognize us and say, "welcome back". I travel a lot for work and fun and find this hotel has a more home like atmosphere rather than a hotel; people are just so friendly and want to make you feel so cared for here. The servers on the beach are so happy and work so quickly to get your food and drink "pronto"! The activities are fun too; even playing bingo by the pool...we went to Western Night with some friends who were here for the first time; they could not believe the value - excellent buffet, drinks and a varied program of entertainment throughout the evening. And of course the beach is amazing; I walked for 21/2 hours along the beach yesterday and could have kept going (only because there was lots more beach, not because my legs could!). If you decide to do the walk, bring water; there is only ETC. beach club to buy water between Paradise and Bucerias (my destination) . Some hotels will let you use the bathroom if you talk with their security guards.

Room Tip: Higher floors on the marina side have a nice view of the mountains and tend to be quieter and cooler...
