Wonderful smaller resort on the beach, five minute walk from your room to the sun and sand. Staff were very friendly, despite a mix up with the rooms which resulted in having to switch rooms the next day, beds are a little hard if you are used to a soft bed. We booked this resort because it was smaller and did not have a bunch of night clubs so there wouldn't be people partying all night. We went with our 20 year old son's, they had a great time and enjoyed the pool bar with all the young crowd later at night, a couple of nights they opened the cantina up for dancing later at night but everything (bars) shuts down at 1:30 am however they had a great time and didn't overdo it on the partying as it all shut down at a reasonable hour. The lounge bar is beautiful and very relaxing to read a book or visit, karaoke night was fun, nightly entertainment pool side was good, we really enjoyed Christmas Eve/Day entertainment with the traditional Mexican dress and dancing. The food was very good, lots of variety at the buffet for all meal times, staff there were very friendly and accomodating. The a la carte restaurants were really good, service was wonderful, we spent our last night at the Mexican a la carte, the food and service was great the ambience and music, very enjoyable way to wrap up Mexico. We strolled the beach at 11:00 at night and saw turtles coming on shore to lay eggs, we felt very safe walking the beach (within a reasonable stroll of the hotel) at night the day time you could walk forever. Across the street there is a smaller Mall with a market where we bought extra water and Sabritos. The pool bar music got a little nerve wracking as they play it all day and night, it would have been nice to just enjoy the surf sounds for a few hours each day. Pool chairs filled up fast, same with beach area but as a family of 4 we always managed to find 4 seats on the beach and pull them all together. We never swam in the pool as we're not pool people, however it looked inviting and clean. We would go back to Nuevo and this resort, we felt very safe. Vallarta Adventures tours were great, thanks Roberto! Prices for the tours were the same as what they are on line when booked through the hotel the tours we took were great. Overall the entire resort experience was fantastic, the photo's we had done by Ivan are wonderful and well worth the money, he'll have you smiling and relaxed which makes for some great family photos. My only suggestion would be to stock the rooms with more bottled water, even if they put a few extra bottles on the counter (they stock regular rooms every other day) and to have a hand sanitizer stand on both sides of the buffet entrance that people must use before they go in to serve themselves at the buffet, (like they do on cruise ships).
Get a room away from the open air lobby as the sounds of groups checking in travels up. Corner unit...
