“Fisherman's Inn B&B a Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2008

If you want to stay in town this location is perfect! If you want beach, look elsewhere. Rooms are small but decorated "very Mexico" and welcoming. A handful of the rooms have kitchenettes/sitting areas and offer a bit more space.

We also thought a breakfast was included but the property was undergoing a mgmt change and there was a bit of confusion. We were quickly accommodated and received fruit, breads, yogurt and juices each morning of our stay.

There is a view deck on the third floor that is wonderful for watching the sunsets (bring a bottle of wine) and a courtyard behind the office has a fire burning chiminea to enjoy.

This is a 3 star B&B offering a taste of Mexico without commercialism. The owner, Diane, made us feel welcome. We will be back!

The place was ok, but a bit disappointing after reading all these rave reviews. the bathroom smelled from the water or something, and the heater didn't work. we thought breakfast was included, but its not, and its just OK. the location is in the old town, not very private, fine if you like funky, but not that scenic, kind of honkytonk. on the good side its homey and folks are very nice. parking is limited.

  • Liked — location and the people managing it.
  • Disliked — room a little small, but they have larger ones.

We stayed here for the Az Sonora Governor's Convention. The walk to the Plaza , to see the children, the Governor's and the monument with the Eagles in the center, in the background, was a historical event , along with a majestic view. On the balcony, we sat and enjoyed the Vicente Fernandez concert, This was the perfect location to stay with superb security 24 hrs. The reason why we picked the Fisherman's inn www.oldportinn.com was,a "walk in the park" close to the event, the restaurants and landmarks. The grand finale was sipping on tequila to watch the beautiful sunset of the Sea of Cortez. kory

The inn was amazing and our hosts (Santana and his wife Marla) made our stay very enjoyable. What struck me most was their attention to detail and the friendly atmosphere that they have managed to create. My partner and I felt as if we were part of a very special small community. Our suite was cozy, clean and very comfortable. We stayed a week and some small needs came up. Our hosts were "Johnny on the spot" prompt and immediately took care of all of the details. Our continental breakfasts were varied and tasty! And we loved the proximity to all that the Old Port has to offer. When traveling, I always head the other way from the tourist spots. Our experience, for us, was so much better than staying in a boring condo or large hotel. There are good restaurants and shopping just minutes from the Inn. I can't wait to go back!

Wow! What can I say...it's a perfect place to relax away from Home.....The casita was a small studio like place that is so CLEAN....(Oh, I am a CLEAN -FREAK WOMAN) and all the amenities works perfectly fine in 3 days that we stayed. There is a bbq outside with a relaxing sofa/patio style that you can relax and and drink wine. The morning breeze was so fresh bec. the place is so close to the shore. The manager was so accomodating even help us with our dishes after the bbq. The total ambience of the room is so MEXICAN (lots of traditional memorabilia and souveniers on display) Overall, this is a PLACE to STAY....Contact direct if you can coz you get all the infos you will need. I'll BE BACK.....for sure...Enjoy your stay....

We went in Jan. I thought the weather was perfect. The casita we stayed in was so cute. It definately had all the conveniences of home including a kitchen with everything we needed. And a really cool rock shower. We went with another couple and their room was just as nice. After staying at Fisherman's Inn in Old Port, we wouldn't stay any where else.
