“Stunning and Inexpensive!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2006

We stayed at the Princesa and it was stunning. There are 3 pools and it is very kid friendly yet there was privacy and relaxation anywhere we went. The beaches are beautiful! The lush gardens make you want to roll in the grass, and it was not over populated. The condo was fully furnished, had good drinking water, and was perfect - very comfortable big bed. The A/C was great and the bathroom was awesome. I loved the big tub! Don't let the shabby lobby fool you, it is absolutely wonderful. The room also had games, a radio, and the ability to play DVDs. The condos are individually owned so you will get something unique in each room. How could I forget the onsite little restaurant - the food was so great and very inexpensive. They also had a bar by the pool with a workout area. All the condos are pretty close to each other and we checked them all out. The Princesa may not be the most luxurious of them all (like the Bella Serina or the Sonoran Sun), but it is where I will stay when I go back again.

I can't say it enough....learn the language!!!!!! We, once again got a fabulous condo for a dirt cheap price! We checked in (in Spanish) and found that wherever you go in Mexico, if you speak the language, tip appropriately and are kind......your experience will be a positive one. I am so tired of people complaining about language barriers and disappointments when all they have to do is educate themselves a little and do a little research.....
No problema!!!!!!

Just returned from Puerto Penasco. We have been travelling to this area for the past 6 years, staying in our RV at the Play Elegante RV Park. This time we decided to for go the RV and stay at the Princeso de Penasco in a 2b/2b. Our unit was outstanding, the decor was great, kitchen handled all our needs, very comfortable beds, wonderful deck with 4 chairs and table. Our unit was #307, we loved it and will be back. The Costa Bravo Restarant was outstanding (try the Shirmp Filet); Portifino has been refurbish and was very busy, Balboas (7 Seas Soup)/Blue Marlin (Fish or Shrimp Taco)/Flavio's great lunch; Lolita outstanding a resonable MX meal; and of course the Hot Dog Man! We buy all our fish, shirmp & etc from Pedro's Fish Stand in Old Town (try the fish eggs!). Ask for Michael and say that Ken & Sandi sent you.

This is our 3rd year going to Princesa and we love it more and more each time. Of the bad reviews I wonder what rental agency they went through. This past trip we had about 12 condos in our group and not one complaint of dirty or trashy or broken down condos. We've stayed in Bldg A and B only and did not rent from seaside but went through Mike McCabe at princesa condo rentals in AZ? We knew when we booked that we needed to bring beach towels and shade tents and even our own beach chairs since the chairs by the pools cannot be moved--he did a great job of informing us--and so we didn't have any aggrivating suprises when we got there. Honestly, this place exceeded our expectations in all ways, esp how beautifully the condos were decorated!!!

So my advise would be to stay in those bldgs and if you love the beach and have children, this vacation is for you. We started as a group of 3 families going down for fall break, this last trip we had approx 120 people in Princesa and at beach houses and we all loved it! As was posted, this is not the states, and is a condo resort, not a hotel. We love buying silver on the beach and down the dirt road in "Shacks" fifth ave! We feel it is extremely affordable and the water is so warm (unlike the pacific) and generally calm! My family would much rather spend our vacation $ here than Disney land or other so Cal beaches!!! We are looking to buy a condo here eventhough it is 10 hours away from us!

My husband and I and our 2 daughters (10 & 14) stayed at the Princesa for 5 days in one of the 1-bedroom condos. Our friends and their 11-year-old son stayed in a 1-bedroom condo right next door. We had the best time!! The condos were both very clean and well-stocked, and the furnishings were very nice.

We loved getting up early in the morning and sitting out on our private balconies before hitting the water. Although we were in Rocky Point during "monsoon" season, we were blessed with 5 days of perfect weather...hot and sunny.

The pools were great. The kids could play, we could float on rafts (bring them from Phoenix...the little store didn't have much selection), and there were so few people there (being August) that we had plenty of room to relax.

When we tired of the calm pool, we would venture down to the beach. The sand was soft (but HOT! wear aqua shoes), the beach was clean, and the water was perfect...just enough waves to have a little fun, but calm enough that we didn't have to worry about the kids being drowned. The lava rocks that are under the water were really cool...very different from the east coast! Bring noodles from Phoenix for floating on the waves.

We loved being able to do all of our souvenir shopping right on the beach. No one pestered us, and we've really enjoyed all of the things we bought (mostly jewelry, and the girls and I sprung for braids...great choice, since all we had to do after a day in the water was shower and dress for dinner! no bad hair days in Mexico!)

Because it's a condo, we were able to save a little money by only going out to dinner. We had brought lunch food from Phoenix, and we made a couple of trips into town to the panderia on the main drag (it's in a pink building)for breakfast goodies...YUM!

We didn't try the restaurant at the Princesa, but we ate at the Sonoran Spa TWICE, and we went to an Italian place (Portofino's), which was incredible...even though we've all laughed about eating Italian food in Mexico. We didn't venture to the taco stands, but some people we met at the resort said they really liked one of the chicken stands on the main drag.

The only complaint we had about Rocky Point at all was the unexpected need for cash. Our friends had been there before and assured us that plastic was better than a lot of cash...however, after 2 dinners at the Sonoran (which didn't take plastic) and "shopping" on the beach, we found ourselves a little strapped and had to break into the kids' vacation money on the last night! So BRING GREEN!

Otherwise, it was an absolutely fabulous vacation, and the Princesa was a wonderful place to stay. The pool area was lovely and clean, and the condo itself was great.

We didn't have any problems that required us to interact with management, but I certainly appreciated the security guards at the gate and in the complex. All of the guests were families, except for one group of 4 college-age boys who were probably mightily disappointed in their luck! (I guess it gets more youth-oriented at spring break.)

We didn't really like the armbands, but they certainly kept out people who shouldn't have been there. We actually watched one of the guards escorting someone out who claimed that she hadn't wanted to wear her bracelet...better safe than sorry!

I would highly recommend the Princesa. Because it's a private-owner condo, you may want to contact the owners directly or go to the Rocky Point forum to see which condos are nicest. We stayed in building D on the 5th floor, but I forget our room numbers. They were incredibly nice.

This resort is breathtakingly beautiful...when we returned, our family couldn't believe the pictures of the place! Your family will love it, too!

We stayed at the Princessa on Oct.9-14. We had a really grand time. The facilitys were fantastic. It is clean, large and very family friendly. We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo. The owner of this condo out did themselfs on the decoration. WOW! Our condo was very clean, and had everything we needed plus some bonuses. The staff was really helpful and courtous. Housekeeping came everyday to switch towels and maintance came right away when the security gate wouldn't open with the key provided (small set back). I would recomend the Princessa to everyone. It is more reasonably price compaired the the other propertys on sandy beach. We will come next year for sure. Thanks for the memorys, and laughs.
