They at one time were selling time shares with REI, don't know if they still are. We went to view and stay at the property to see if we wanted to buy into the REI time share for about 4k and use the points to stay at other locations. We did not buy even at this low price. The staff knows this place is a dump and they are friendly but a dump is a dump. The reviews that others have given are factual, if you're their to party with your 20 or so friends and no other place will rent to your group, Fiesta de Cortez is your place. Just goes to show you that mommy and daddy could have put you in a cheap community college and as long as their was a nightly party you'd be good with it. The problem with no running water is best anyway as you should not use it anyway, you're in Mexico! They have to shut it down to clear the septic tank, the water system in town feeding this location does not have any issues other then bacteria, they rarely have issues with being shut down.

We waited until the last minute to make a reservation for Spring Break 2006. It does suck, but it is cheap and had an open bar on Saturday. If all you are doing is drinking, does it really matter where you stay? Didn't think so. So there was no running water for a couple hours, but we were not going to shower anyway. Great for Spring Break but if you can afford somewhere better, do it.

It's my understanding that some of the rooms are in fair condition; however, we certainly didn't get one of them. So if you like to gamble, go ahead and book a room here. Nothing in our room was in decent shape or functioned properly. There was a kitchenette with no refrigerator, stove, or running water. The bathrooms were absolutely repulsive. I think the majority of furniture was picked up from the dump or street corner. I’m still not sure why we didn’t just sleep in the trunk of our car, it would have been an improvement.

You get what you pay for. This hotel was ok. It was nice that it had a little kitchen, which we didnt really use. It had a nice kitchen table and nice little living room. But the bathroom was not good. The shower door would not close so the restroom was soaked. The pool was nice and clean. Other than that it was fine. I would stay again if i was on a low budget.

This place is a DUMP..it is a MEXICAN PROPERTY FOR MEXICANS.....if you have any class what so ever you will NOT STAY HERE. Bugs in the rooms, hot, air hardly works at all,the so called kitchen is a HOTPLATE, the swimming pool is old and flithy same as the so called hottub. And lets not forget about the restaurant, what a joke..they can make lets see..tacos,tacos,tacos..and not very good ones at that. The bar is a typical MEXICAN BAR ,I know this is Mexico and I can deal w/that..but try dealing with this joke of a HOTEL..RESORT...and lest not forget the staff......real bright bunch they have working if you can understand them between all the yelling theu do to each other...Just a warning this place is not what they advertise....not even close!
