After several disappointing meals in Rocky Point, I asked someone who is from Rocky Point where he goes to eat with his family and he said Federico's. It is located in Malecon, and if you have been to Rocky Point and walked past the fish markets you walked right past this restaurant. There is an overhead sign, but my guess is people are looking at the fish in the market, and not looking up where the sign is.
This restaurant is casual, I mean REALLY casual. We sat in the back which is right on the water behind a fish stall. The seating consisted of four home made plywood picnic tables sitting on a yard of small rocks. The tables sit under a tent like covering lighted by a string of mismatched light bulbs.
The menu offers a variety of seafood, a kilo of shrimp cooked however your want it, a kilo of fish cooked how ever you would like. How about a half kilo of each? I opted for a half kilo shrimp ceviche and it was delicious. The shrimp cocktail was enormous, full of tasty fresh shrimp in a succulent sauce. It too was wonderful.
The service was friendly, attentive and what you would want in a "fancy" restaurant.
The fact that no one reviewed Federico's before tells me everyone really does walk right past it. If you have no objections to a really casual dining experience with a lot of wonderfully tasty food, give it a try.
