We stayed for 1 night whilst passing through Kendal. Pleasantly greeted and shown to our room by Maureen. The room itself was basic with splits in the cieling wallpaper and the bed wasn't the most comfortable - but did the job for the night! Bedroom was well stocked with tea/coffee making facilities and the bathroom was nice and clean.
We arranged for an early breakfast and a late check-out, and these were no problem with Maureen. Our cooked breakfast was absolutely lovely, with homemade bread for toast, homemade jams and freshly brewed coffee. No room for cereal or yoghurts, but these were offered to us.
Compared to the website description of a lovely lounge with log fire, the reality was somewhat disappointing due to uncomfy chairs and the lack of fire. As a result, we opted to sit in the room.
All in all, in our oppinion, satisfactory but nothing special.
