We arrived in thick snow and treacherous ice, but received a very warm welcome for our Christmas visit. I had rung ahead to ask for a cottage/house that would be easiest for my elderly mother to negotiate. In fact, they allocated one with one more bedroom and a downstairs loo than we had booked on exchange, and one with easy access from the road. It was perfect. On Christmas day, I discovered that the online shopping order had not delivered anything with which to make gravy, and appealed to the chef for help. Even at such a busy time, he quickly and very cheerfully provided more than enough lovely gravy to complement our Christmas dinner. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, so even Christmas dinner in a strange kitchen was fine.

It's a lovely location with good views, a nice little pond with ducks, a well equipped small gym and a nice pool, steam room and jacuzzi.

We are looking forward to returning in better weather to enjoy walking.

By the way, if you drive, don't miss the fabulous food market at Tebay service area, near J38 of the M6.

We have just returned from a fantastic week in the Lake District.
We obtained our week as an Interval Getaway.
The resort did not seem full although the car park was busy. The apartment was more than we needed as there was a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bedroom with a bunk bed bed in it.
There are no cars around the areas of the apartments other than during changeovers.
We used the facilities in the resort everyday, we swam everyday, the pool is a nice size and a comfortable temperature. the jacuzzi is big though unfortunately was out of order for the last three days we were there.
The steam room and sauna were definitely hot enough!
We never actually used the gym although it did look nice.
The restaurant's food was good value and tasted good. The chef was even good enough to mix and match a couple of items off the menu at my request (Cumberland sausages Cajun style!)
The bar staff (who doubled as the restaurant staff) worked hard but were always cheerful and very polite. We found them helpful with any local queries we had. Take away pizzas were available.
The evening entertainment was a mix of quizzes, bingos, and singers. Enough to keep everyone happy especially with the relatively low price of single malts!
The Vassa Spa was good quality with a charming therapist, a facial and a leg and foot massage proving to be well worth the visits.
We spent most of time walking the local fells, or visiting Keswick. The Theatre on the Lake has 6 different shows on during a week at a variety of times.
Depending on how far you like to walk, there are two pubs within walking distance, The Sportman's Inn is about a mile away and has a range of local beers, whilst the Boot and Shoe is two miles in the other direction. It has live music on a Sunday, the day we went it was Rory Connor and we had a very pleasnt couple of hours listening to him supping on ales.

Stayed with the family, the resort and cleanliness were excellent and the people friendly, well equipped, well maintained, very clean food was was good. There were several irritations such as there were A.notices & rules about everything, everywhere. B.If you are visiting take plenty of loose change as refundable deposits are required for most activities, C. Oh and you cannot open a tab for the meals in the excellent restaurant, or drinks at the well stocked bar, settlement on the night please! The resort does not offer breakfast.
