“Amazing from start to finish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Where do I start. Upon arrival we were met by friendly staff. The bellboys, the receptionist and the concierges all making it a special point to welcome us. During our stay we enjoyed great food, service and the many amenities of the resort. We celebrated our 30th anniversary and my 50th birthday while there. The staff went out of there way to make it memorable. I want to put a big thank you out to Zaitseff Gonzalez who went out of his way to make sure we had a comfortable stay. He is a great representative for your company.

Room Tip: If you have asthma or lung issues: Higher floors have less humidity!

Let me start off by saying this resort is excellent and you will not be disapointed. The staff is incredible and it starts the moment you walk in. You are greated with a cool cloth and a glass of champane. Everyone always had a smile and was willing to accomodate any request. We had an issue with our safe. We called and someone was up to fix it in less than 5 minutes!! We had an excellent ocean view from the 6th floor and the food was amazing.
Traveling with a group of 6 (one who had just had surgery, one who has a heart condition and a two year old) this resort was the perfect size. If anyone of us needed to get to our room quickly we were able to. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. Thank you Dreams for making our experience so wonderful!

My wife, 9 year old twin boys, and I stayed at Dreams Puerto Aventuras from October 10 -17. It is a great time to go. It is shoulder season and the hotel is nowhere near maximum occupancy. We booked a deluxe gardenview room and were upgraded to a partial ocean view room. Partial meaning because it was on the second floor you had to look through the palm trees to see the ocean. No big deal.
The room was a little dated but spotlessly clean and that is what is important. We requested a rollaway bed for one of the boys and got it no problem. The balcony overlooking the pool was nice.
This was the best food selection of any all inclusive we have been to in terms of variety and quality. The World Cafe was our breakfast destination every morning. Lots of variety including many Mexican specialites which was nice. I need a reciped for the Chile Quiles! Outstanding. We only ate lunch and dinner once at World Cafe as we found the other restaurants more appealing.
Seaside Grill was a great lunch option. The grouper sandwich is a keeper. Portofino (Italian) was outstanding, and El Patio, (Mexican) was terrific. Very high quality.
The entertainment staff went out of their way to make everyone's stay enjoyable. A special thank you goes out to Gabriel and Israel who were really great with my boys. No one pushes you to do anything. They will inform you of upcoming activities and it is up to you to participate or not. Do as little or as much as you want.
The location is great. One hour from the airport (maybe 90 minutes if the bus is stopping at other hotels). Beach was terrific and the water was crystal clear.
Overall we were very impressed and would not hesitate to return. This is from travellers who were die hard Caribbean destination vacationers. Mexico offers such value that I just can't justify spending the extra money to go to the islands. Kudos to Westjet and Best Day Travel. The execution of our transfers from airport to hotel were flawless. Simply a terrific holiday.

Absolutely outstanding resort. Great service, food was top rate and same for drinks. Always felt safe in this gated community of Puerto Adventuras and away from the hustle of the other all inclusive resorts. Very private and secluded yet very vibrant. All we did (wife, 5 year old daughter and I) was swim in the pool and hang out on the beach for hours upon end. Always felt like there was something to do or see right on the resort. Not a second of boring. My daughter Ava is not one to be on her own and really we did not want her to be away but when she dicovered the in-house Kids Explorers Club she wanted to go everyday and participate in their activities which gave me and my wife some time. My hats off to Ceidi, Cristal, Gabriela and Sarai who really became friends with Ava and all the other kids. Cannot comment highly enough on these 4 ladies. Big thank you. Secondly, the entertainment staff was always doing and encouraging fun. Gabriel, Israel, Jesus - great job and thank you. Gabriel and Israel - Ava said she is both your girlfriend. Fabien thanks for taking care of our needs on the beach/pool area and for the talks. Glad we met you. Joana at World Cafe, great job. You were so memorable to Ava and us of course. Finally as Gabriel put it - thanks to all the backstage people that we don not see at the hotel that I am sure work so hard. Great trip, great room and great time. You will be remembered and we will see you again. Gracias amigos.

My Wife and I visited from Oct 7th thru Oct 13. The resort was beautiful. Grounds were well groomed, rooms were clean, the beach was beautiful and the food was delicious. I would especially recommend Portofino ( Italian). A special thanks goes out to Fabian, our poolside bartender/ waiter and Isreal and Gabriel who are members of the entertainment team who always made sure we were happy and our needs were met. After a not so great vacation in DR, this resort exceeded our expectations for the price!! I would definately return.

My husband and I travelled from the U.K, we stayed at the Dreams P.A 18th sept - 29th Sept. we had booked an ocean view deluxe room as we wanted everything to be special as we were on honeymoon. we were given room 332 which was on the ocean side of the hotel but unfortunately all we could see from the balcony were 2 massive palm trees, if we hadn have paid extra for an ocena view we wouldnt have been bothered at all, however as we'd paid the extra we went back to reception to say that we wernt happy, they were fully booked bt said that if we were ok to wait a few days they'd be able to move us to a room on the 6th floor which had a fantastic view, we were there for 11 nights so agreed to this. It was so worth the move, the view from room 656 was just breathtaking. Both rooms we had were the same with a 4 poster bed which was the comfiest bed ive ever slept in, the rooms were also cleaned very well every day by the maids. The staff at this hotel just cant do enough for you, always happy to serve you and appreciate just a simple thank you, they'd always answer with 'you're welcome' i didnt always tip and didnt feel like they always expected to be tipped either. We chose this resort for a relaxing honeymoon and this is exactly what we got. we only left the hotel 2 times, once for a walk around the marina which was lovely to see the dolphins, manitees, seals etc. we also took a taxi into playa del carmen...wasnt that fussed on playa, there were so many shops and the keepers just nagged you as you passed each one. we were happier to just chill at the hotel. we ate mostly at the world cafe buffet, the omlettes there for breakfast were delicious, made freshly as you want them, the staff there were the best.. at breakfast, dinner and evening meal i felt. the food in all the other restaurants was also fantastic, the only ones we didnt try were the oceana and sushi bar as we're not fish lovers. on the beach there are options to go kayaking, on a short catamaran trip and snorkeling all for free. the resort has a beach bar with swings, which i thought were really cool. at night we went to the bar a few times, ust played pool, sat around with a cocktail and listened to the music and chatted to some people that we'd met. once a week they hold a fire show on the beach which is absolutely fantastic, i recommend them get more of this kind of entertainment on the beach as everyone seems to enjoy this. sometimes if u just feel like staying in ur room to cool off you can order room service, theres a fantastic room service menu and you can ask for as many drinks as you like too, this service was also very quick. If you're on honeymoon and book a deluxe ocean view room they offer a complimentary honeymoon package which includes a beachfront romantic meal (5 courses) (the 3rd course was snails..i gave it a try but wasnt fussed, the steak was amazing tho), u can also get sparking wine in ur room as part of the free package and a massage.....check out the details on their website as u do have to ask for this..they wont just offer it to you...but it is free and so worth it. during the dates were there the hotel wasnt too busy or either too quitet, seemed a good time to go.
I'd definitely recommend this hotel for both families and for a romantic relaxing holiday and we would both love to go back :-) weve stayed at many 4 star hotels wich weve oved but this is the best ever and the place is just so pretty it....id love to go back and will im sure :-)

Room Tip: If you like an ocean view room ask for one on 5/6/7th floor...absolutely breathtaking views

This hotel was our second break to the Yucatan Peninsula in under a month and sadly we had been spoiled by our earlier first choice, the Dreams sister hotel in Tulum. To be positive, the beach at Dreams PA is probably one of the best in the area and almost rivals the Maldivian resorts and the rooms in this small hotel are huge with comfortable beds and almost-silent superb air conditioning. That said, it all went downhill from there - the emphasis at this hotel seems to be on weddings and children with many areas given over to those groups, even to the point of shutting off bars and restaurants to the general guest population.
The limited restaurants had even more limited menus and on two occasions we left meals midway through after giving up on the task of chewing through half-cooked or fatty meats. True, the way food is prepared is often a personal choice but having delighted at the cuisine in the Dreams Tulum I find it difficult to believe that I am being over-critical. Restaurants were shut on many evenings and on two occasions half of the remaining available restaurants were closed to the general guests because of a wedding and another was given over entirely to a happy couple meaning you had a wait of up to 40 minutes to be seated - and that with the hotel less than half full. The service at most eateries was poor (with the notable exception of the Porto Fino Italian) and occasionally during a meal I walked over to a bar to get a glass of wine - quicker than waiting for the service in the restaurant.
A blessing in this hotel is the adults only pool at the rear of the hotel which looks out over a beautiful marina. Here you can escape from the aforementioned children and groups of noisy young Americans frolicking about in the per-marital ritual of getting inebriated by 11 am. The setting is exquisite and the marina and surrounding area are well-worth exploring. Having criticised the service it is only fair to say that the general staff were extremely helpful and cheerful - literally nothing was too much trouble including providing me with an extension cable to enable lap-top work to be done in a shaded area near the Marina - so my star rating for service is only directed at the restaurant staff. Having said all that, we did thoroughly enjoy most of what the hotel had to offer and if you are planning a family holiday (or making or renewing your vows) this is definitely the place for you. If you are a foodie or simply want to raise the game in terms of service, i recommend you try the Dreams at Tulum which is a true 5 star hotel.
The local agent for our holiday was a company called Jumbo Tours and, like then name suggests- they were slow at everything. On our first trip the rep never put in appearance leaving us to chase her for our pick-up departure time. At the Dreams PA it was a similar story and when the transport did arrive we had been waiting for nearly an hour in the foyer which would have been better spent in the pool or bar.
In terms of attractions, we had covered most on our first visit but took a 220 pesos taxi to Playa del Carmen out of curiosity - on reflection it reached our our expectations of a noisy tourist trap with over-priced trinkets and drinks at £5 a head, a sort of Blackpool (UK) with sun. Give it a miss unless you are desperate for a break from your hotel.

Room Tip: As returning guests we were upgraded to a superior room - get one if you can. Location doesn't m...
