Our precious time of 4 days and 5 nights went by in a flash. My only complaint is that we did not have enough time to really get to enjoy this wonderful hotel and all it had to offer. If you are going to pay the money to go to this hotel you need at least 5 full days.
I do have 1 more complaint only 2 restaurants were open for breakfast and lunch and 4 were open for dinner. They did rotate which restaurants were open each day so that allowed for us to try different ones each day.
So here is my review or (aka) my play by play of our days:
The 1 ½ hour ride from the airport was all worth it when they greeted us at the doors of EDSS. They gave us a lavender scented wet towel a glass of good champagne and took us to our room by golf cart, which was all very nice.
We were very hungry so we went straight to the sandwicherie and ordered the much talked about fried chicken burrito and El Dorado Special. Very very yummy, especially covered in the guacamole. That evening we ate at La Carreta (the Mexican cuisine) and to start with I ordered some type of seafood tacos, they stunk (smelled) to say the least. Let’s just say after I told the waiter they treated me like I was a rock star. After my soup and main meal several staff would come by to make sure I was pleased with the rest of my dinner. The Cilantro soup was amazing!!! The fire show ended the evening and was entertaining.
The next day my husband and I just wanted to relax. We managed to go "beach bed hoping", it was great. We had no problems finding a beach bed because the hotel was only 30%-50% occupied during our stay. We really enjoyed all the different views and beach beds. Some were shaded some had full sun some would swing some were up high some were by the beach and some were by the pool. And all of them had service.
Our second dinner was the Asian food, Klay Talay. I will give you one word, amazing!
My husband ordered his appetizer again after dinner it was the chicken, beef and shrimp skewers. I was a participant in the BONK game for the nightly entertainment, pretty fun.
The 3rd day we went to Hidden Worlds, very fun and worth the trip if you want something different and adventures.
On this day we ate Vida for breakfast and dinner, very good! The Vida Margarita was wonderful and I am a picky margarita lady!
Our 4th and final day we had another relaxing day. After breakfast we did the Spanish lessons which were a good lesson and fun! Lounged at the activity pool, played water and sand volley ball, ping pong and BINGO.
Over all the staff was wonderful, the grounds were lush and colorful, the food was good but not gourmet and the rooms were perfect in every way. I did not care for their bathroom products; they smelled like Dawn soap to me. And I would reccommend an ocean front room, it was much nicer then our friends that had the garden view. But it could all depend on the building you are in.
Great place to relax and get away for a few days!
