“Excellent vacation at an amazing resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

I would like to start of saying we had an amazing vacation. My husband and I arrived at the resort from Jan 28-Feb 4/13. I was very nervous attending this resort after reading some very negative reviews on this site, we almost changed our reservation, I am so thankful our travel agent encouraged us to go in with an open mind. Great advice!!!!

Our flight was 1 hr delayed related to the massive snow storm and the plane needed to be de iced. We arrived in Cancun and our bus connection to the resort was there ready and waiting. The ride is 1 hour from the airport. Our check in was less then 10mins, the front desk staff gave us all the details we required and then we were ushered to our room that was completely ready ( no wait time at all). It was clean and bright with all the needed ammenities. We had a king sized bed and wonderful view.

The food was good to excellent, depending on your taste. I think after a while most people tired of rich foods, some of us over indulge a bit to much. We have to remember they prepare food that may taste different then what we are used to. The drinks were wonderful.

We used our whole $1500.00 credit on spa treatments, we had facials, massages, salt scrubs, wraps and pedicures. We really treated this like a luxury as we don't do this at home on the regular. ( Know that you pay a 11% tax on your services). The spa prices are inflatted for sure, however we look at it as a treat we wouldn't normally do. Many couples we met went golfing or day excursions.

The staff were polite, and kind. Always smiling and saying hello. We stayed at the adult only side, however ventured to the cove as they have a lovely coffee/sweets bar. I am pretty happy with the coffee no Tims but pretty tastey.

Only complaint is seating around the beach or pool. My hubby set the alarm at 630am every morning to get the perfect spot. Most lounge chairs were gone by 830-900am. He just took a t shirt and towel and drapped it on the chairs. No one stole the chairs as someone in a previous post stated. Lots of seaguls around when you are eating, more so when people brought food to the beach area or pool. Other then that no concerns.

Suggestion have your own opinion, you will make a trip what you will. Sure there are things to complain about and we had our own little grumbles, however we had an amazing time, met some great people and would go there again.

Chris and Katherine

Very nice resort. The food was the best we've ever had on a tropical vacation. On the Palace (+18) side.... no bracelets (bonus), no checking in or returning towels (I always hate when you have to do that) and free calls to Canada and the U.S. (big plus). No bogus reservations for their "specialty" restaurants (hooray). The rooms are not the best we've had but who stays in their room much when you are in paradise! The service was great and the facility was very clean. My only real complaint... the beds were hard and, we thought, uncomfortable but on the upside the pillows were the best. The lagoon/ocean space was interesting with many species of fish. The facility has so many activities, especially for children, that I was amazed. There is entertainment every single night.

Room Tip: We had a corner unit that jutted out, a bit of ocean view and a forested area in front of our balcon...

The Aventura Spa Palace is probably the best vacation experience my husband and I have
done. The rooms were clean; the service was excellent; the meals in all the 8 restaurants
were very good; many of them excellent. My favorite was the Japanese restaurant.
I was a bit dissappointed that there was no beach; however the pools; and the snorkelling made
up for that.
I would highly recommend this resort; it exceeded our expectations. Plus; you get a lot of
extra freebies in this all-inclusive resort which you don't expect.
For people who have children; the Aventura Cove Palace is also part of this resort; and they
lots of fun things for kids to do. The Cove side caters to families only.

DD; Calgary, Alberta.

To any of you who are checking these reviews, do not pay any attention to the negative ones. Yes service can be hit or miss in some cases, but really the overall experience is a great one. Remember you are there to relax and have a good time. Leave the hectic life back at home.

The rooms are nice, the food is good (especially at the Italian and Chinese Restaurants). Our favorite staff members were Carlos (waiter at the beach), Baxter and Victor (entertainment staff at the beach). They truly made our vacation very enjoyable.

The free wi-fi around the resort was awesome. The premium liqour was a bonus. Hope that Hard Rock keeps that feature. Can't wait to see what changes Hard Rock has in store for the resort. We will definitely be back.

We stayed 5 nights, not long enough, and enjoyed it very much. The people who work there are very warm and welcoming and the setting is beautiful. The food is very good however not everything. We got to know quickly what to avoid (desserts). If you want a beach to walk on, this is not the place to go however. There is a big renovation that will take place to add a beach so I have some concern about not going when that is in progress. The rooms are well stocked with a huge tub and shower-loved it! The adult only side was wonderful. We did not go to evening activities so I don't know about that. The only problem was that they closed the major pool and swim up bar with out notice on our 2nd day to rebuild a large structure. There should have been notification. We would go back in a minute-enjoy!

Room Tip: Room on south side not over pool area so quieter. Ocean view room a must (for us).

This is my first time going to an all-inclusive resort and I am impressed about all the good food and services they offer without paying extra. I even got $1500 credit so I was able to enjoy their Spa and Massage services. The property is under renovation though, transforming to a Hard Rock hotel. The bed is hard for me but everything else is great. Small details with the finishing here and there needs improvement and the lack of long sandy beach ids a minus. I will still return here - especially with the discounted price package like what I got for my trip his month.
