“good and complete staying”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

I enjoyed my staying it was peaceful and with everything nearby, I was not taking the all inclusive pack, but breakfast was nice and very varied even when it was continental, all main places in mayan riviera were very close like xcaret park and tulum beach.

one of the best vacations we have had in a LONG time - I stay at Omni whenever I can and I am never disappointed at their level of service and professionalism - this was by far one of the best properties owned by Omni that I have stayed at - keep up the GREAT work -

Room Tip: there are only 24 - I prefer the upper floor but all the rooms seemed to be great ocean views

My group of 13 rented a house in PA that included a membership at the Omni Hotel Beach Resort. The day pass included use of the pools and beaches, and a 25% discount on food/drink. We took advantage of this three times during our week in PA, and it was so perfect for our group giving us tons of services in a location close to our home.

We spend the whole first day of our vacation at the Omni, enjoying breakfast in the restaurant, renting a Thai Bed poolside and beach palampa on the water, and enjoying lunch and cocktails at the swim up bar. Later in the day, we rented sea kayaks and paddled beyond the swim area and to the lighthouse. Everyone enjoyed the easy of beach and pool access with food and drinks at hand. We had a 2 year old with us, and his parents really appreciated the close proximity to our house for when the baby needed changed or a break from the action.

The food was pretty good, considering our location at a beach resort. It was fairly standard fare of grilled foods, tacos, nachos and salads. We also had some sushi from the hotel restaurant. It was perfect in terms of taste; it was weird to eat sushi in a swim up bar.

All in all, we were all glad to have this facility at our finger tips. We'd happily stay at the hotel if we travel with a smaller group.

Amenities: I will start with Omni Puerto Aventuras has all the attractions/amenities of a large resort with the quiet setting of a small town. In other words, this is not a luxury hotel like they advertise, it just has all the amenities of one. This qualifies as a four star hotel because of the amenities, but without the amenities, it would only average 3 stars in my opinion. We were happy with the fact that there was free Wi-Fi in the room, as we took full advantage of it to communicate with our family back home online daily. The rooms were spacious with ceiling fan, large tv, small fridge, and a safe as advertised. The balcony with hammock, table and chairs, and the jetted tub was nice. They did give us free slippers which was nice since the room does not have a rug. Note: they do not have free shuttle service to and from the airport.
Service: My husband, and I, were on vacation for our 7th wedding anniversary, and reserved a month ahead a standard room with a king size bed / European plan with marina view for 5 nights. What we ended up with was a room with two double beds and a view of a souvenir shop, and bar. We notified them the minute we walked into the room and saw we had two double beds instead of a king so they could move us, but they told us that there were no rooms available during our stay with a king size bed. Which was pretty weird because the place was pretty much dead. We must have only seen enough people to accommodate maybe 3 other rooms. Were those the only three rooms out of 30 with king size beds? I don't know. They didn't even try to accommodate us for the inconvenience. I would have settled for two queens, but since they don't have queen, I would have settled for a room with a nicer view. Needless to say, my husband, and I slept in different beds the whole 5 nights. Booo. Included in our hotel stay was the continental breakfast in which you get a small basket of toast and small pastries, or a small plate of fruit, with coffee or juice. It's probably a good idea to upgrade your breakfast with the waiter, or just go have breakfast somewhere in the marina. During our stay in Mexico, we planned to see as much as we could of the Riviera Maya, and therefore planned something each day of our trip. So, we were pretty much gone all day. Even though we only needed a room for the evening time, we still wanted a nice hotel with nice amenities, but this hotel caters to those who plan on staying, relaxing, using the amenities, and spending their money with them- without leaving the premises. Everything closes early except for the restaurant. Its pretty much set up so you use the hotel amenities during the day, and explore the town in the evening. The beach was small like others have posted. It was pretty, but needed some TLC, and because the place was dead, we had it all to ourselves. The location of the hotel, and the town was good. Some of our excursions included Tulum, and Akumal, which was 15 min in one direction, and Xplor, and Playa del Carmen which was 15 min the other direction. The hotel is beachfront so that made it a good location in the town of PA. You can take a short stroll along the marina at night, or sit and have drinks at one of the bars. Do visit Jessie Gelato and Massimo for pizza take out. All in all, my experience with Omni PA Beach Resort; I rate the service - poor. I rate the hotel - average. The amenities good if used. and the Location - good.

Room Tip: Rooms on the pool side are quieter. Rooms on the marina/shops/restaurant side can be loud in the eve...

We couldn't be happier with our stay. We researched several hotels in the area including Playa Del Carmen and Tulum before choosing the Omni Puerto. We had the opportunity during our stay to see the other choices in person and we are SOOO thankful we chose this. We didn't want the loud, commercial chain feel that often comes with inclusive hotels. But we did want the beautiful beach, gorgeous pool, and onsight restaurants. This is the choice!!! WE loved the hammock and jucuzzi tub on our balcony. We also adored the classy, international feel to the whole Puerto Aventuras community. We were in walking distance to everything we needed: shops, restaurants, gelato, dolphins, and a lovely marina! The hotel staff were polite and gracious, always making themselves available to answer questions. The room was clean and refreshed by staff twice a day! The Omni Puertas is a gem!

Room Tip: Choose the ocean view, you will want this!!!

We lucked upon this resort when I booked a package through Costco last minute and relied on TA reviews to pick Omni! This hotel exceeded our expectations!
HIGHLIGHTS:
1) Room was spectacular – and it was worth the extra $ for ocean view (we were on 3rd floor). No elevator but we knew that and not a problem for us. Big balcony with private Jacuzzi overlooking the stars – can’t beat it. And hammock too! Shower pressure was amazing (better than home!). Housekeeping – came by every day to replace beach towels and provide additional bath towels if requested.
2) The grounds are lovely. Pools, swim up bar, small beach. I was told the beach was not there a year ago so was happy to have a small one on this visit. Was never too crowded so always had a lounge and shade if we chose. The beach is gorgeous in front of the hotel – calm and can swim out far and snorkel. They have created barriers to build up beach so you just swim around them.
3) Service/Food – We were so impressed by the service here – very friendly and and so accommodating. All the waiters were very polite and always quick to attend to our requests. The breakfast (American plan) was very good (all the egg dishes excellent and the fruit plate spectacular!). Sushi – it was good (considering not a regional cuisine) and they offer 2 for 1 on certain days. In addition, all the front desk employees were very friendly, helpful and polite.
4) Ambiance – it is a small hotel (only 30 rooms) so felt very intimate and relaxing. Easy stroll around Marina (next door) from hotel and we regularly walked up to entrance to catch Collectivo for day trips.
NOTE: P.A. is a planned community – a lot of condos and not a "real" town so to speak. There is a marina with dolphin park and little restaurants and shops. But if you want more action and more of an authentic feel you may want to stay elsewhere (not me!)

Room Tip: Definitely invest in ocean view room if you can. 3rd floor view the best if you don't mind the...

Nice sized rooms with a good bed. (And a pillow menu which my husband loved). They have a nice sized hammock and a jacuzzi in the balcony outside. We had the garden view which overlooked the dolphin pool. Saw dolphins performing tricks right from the balcony which was a nice treat.
Our room was on the second floor. Please note that there is no elevator. Wished we had asked for rooms on a lower floor because we had a senior person traveling with us.

It's well maintained resort, great pool area and the beach is just a few steps beyond. Perfect for kids. The beach has these straw umbrellas and beach chairs. All you need is your sunscreen and your beach pails. They have also created a small cove where you can snorkel. My 9-yr old had an amazing time. The beach bar is a nice touch.

Food was ok, but the service is slow. It typically took them 45 mins to get us our breakfasts in the morning. One night I ordered pizza from their room service which was delicious and came in about 15 minutes.

Lots of dining options around the gated community with live music.
