I was impressed with our stay at the Omni PA. It is a very clean and low key type of property. The service is excellent across the board. The meals at the hotel property while on the expensive side are very very good.
The property is within a gated/secure area which provides peace of mind especially at night.
The Omni is not a mega resort type of property therefore is suitable for families with young kids and older folks (retired like us) as well. I don't think it fits well for families with rambunctious teenagers. Property immediately next to a dolphinarium, restaurants, bars, mini-market, walking distance across the careterra to the Chedraui (supermarket).
Only downside I can think of is that the hotel's beach area is quite limited. In fact on the beach I only counted six (6) palapas therefore if you are going to want shade in the afternoons you had better get up early and reserve your spot. Pool bar on the beach however they ONLY have happy hour for one (1) hour, from Noon to 1:PM. Go figure! Lobby bar does have happy hour from 6:pm to 9:pm.
Also be advised room service only available until 10:pm (best of my recollection).
If you are driving a rental car there is free parking on the property. Again, gated community, very secure, especially at night.
I would definitely go back for another stay now knowing which section of the building is preferable and its limitations (smallish beach area).
