“Fabulous Resort!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 days at this all-inclusive resort. The room was clean and lovely and included a spa next to the bed. Excellent maid service with flower petals on the spa towels and chocolates on the pillows. SPA treatments were reguvenating. Very efficient lobby and tour staff, a variety of excellent restaurants and entertainment nightly. The "Fire Dancers" were incredible!! The entertainer on "Samba" night could challenge any professional. Our favorite activity was swimming with the dophins; we have wanted to do that for years. The friendliest people were the "Pool Bar" staff. Many thanks to Margarita and Lucy for making us feel at home. The only negative was that their Chardonnay wines were awful, so we had margarittas instead. We plan to return next spring. OLA!

Room Tip: The 2 double beds rooms - good ocean view

We visited Riviera Maya Easter Week and stayed at Aventura Cove Palace. My family had an absolutely amazing time. There was so much to do at the resort and we only did a fraction of it. I traveled with my husband, and daughters 9 and 10. The snorkeling in the cove was perfect, plenty to see, and a great place to learn, shallow in many parts and you can venture to deeper water if desired, whole area is blocked off by rock walls so it is very safe. Kayaking was there too and was quite fun. All equipment is available at no charge and is a few steps away from the pools. Very convenient. Pools are gorgeous and large. Pool staff offered great enterainment, my daughter learned to salsa dance and they both played beach soccer one day. Monkey tour was fun/intriguing right on property. Nightly entertainment was great! Pool tables around resort kept us busy before the shows. We took day trips to wet n wild, chichen itza, playa del carmen , and xupuha palace, and swim with the dolphins. All were wonderful and would do all again. Xupuha was a great day trip, neat small native animal zoo with knowledgeable guides and great kayaking/snorkeling in estuary. Chichen itza was worth the almost 3 hr daunting trip, seeing the pyramids is truly amazing and stopping for lunch in the mayan villlage was fun. We were there for 1 week and wish it were at least 2. There is sooo much to do-you will never be bored, and we can't wait to return. The staff is amazing and will cater to your every whim, top notch service!!! The $1500 resort credit is wonderful, it virtually pays for all of the entertainment/excursions. Visiting the neighboring palace resorts is a complete plus. All inclusive is the way to go !!!!! Oh and as for the safety- we never felt unsafe at any moment. Anything you see in the news is happening elsewhere. You fly into Cancun and travel about 45 minutes to resort and it is completely safe. What a great place to go , we can't wait to be able to go to Aventura Cove again.

We had a wonderfull time. Particularly at a restaurant located in the facilities called Mundaca Restaurant. We had the pleasure to meet not only an excellent waiter, but an excellent human being. The way he carried himself, his humbleness and his constant smiles; would definitely be a powerfull reason to comeback not only to this hotel, but also to this restaurant. In a few words..."...above and beyond". His name: Eden Morales! Eden made our vacation way more enjoyable than expected...please take what ever measures neccessary to maintain and keep employees such as him on board...they are the reason we (the clients) comeback! :-) Thanks Eden!!!

Room Tip: Rooms that face both the garden and the beach.

We stayed at Aventura Cove the week of April 10th. We practically had the place to ourselves early in the week, so my boys (ages 15, 13 and 8) really enjoyed the water sports and "private" snorkeling tours. We thought the service and cleanliness of the hotel was great. I'll speak more about the things to do because that was what I spent a lot of time on when researching this area of Mexico. We found a good balance between activities offered by the resort, those offered through the $1500. resort credit promo and outside resources. On the resort, my kids enjoyed the water polo, snorkeling, kayaks and evening shows (arcade as well). Through the resort credit program, we went on the dolphin swim, wet n wild water park and spa for Mom. We went to the dolphin swim on our first full day because it is approx. two hours long and easy to get to. The next day was wet n wild, this is near Cancun and is a full day trip (they provide transportation and food), we were back for the best part of the day to be at the pool, between 3:30-6. The next day we shuttled to the Palace resort in Playa del Carmen, again transportation and food are included and enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing day on the beach and walking around Playa del Carmen. Did I mention the waverunners located next to the resort? (cost approx. $110 for hour but allowed us to change kids from the beach) The next two activities we booked ourselves online, the resort offered similar trips but were more money. We booked a 1/2 day (4 hour) private fishing charter with Captain Rick's approx. a 15 min cab ride away. We caught three huge fish...a Sailfish, a White Marlin and a Mahi-Mahi that the crew filleted for us and the hotel grilled for our dinner that evening! The next day my husband and kids spent the day at the new, local park called X-plore while Mom spent some of the resort credits at the Spa. The boys absolutely loved X-plore, they ziplined, swam in caves, ATV'd and rafted in tunnels. My 8 year old was able to do all of the activities. We booked this trip ourselves and took a 15-20 min cab ride there and saved about $150. by doing so. We thoroughly enjoyed this vacation and don't know how we'll be able to top it.

Cove Palace was completly wonderful this week! Our family of 5 stayed April 22-27th. Everything was top notch; the rooms, service, food, entertainment, and facilities. Our 3 daughters truely enjoyed themselves, age 17,12,&9. The inlet they had there was amazing, we snorkled, swam, and kayak. If you are thinking about a vacation in the Riviera Maya you could NOT go wrong with Cove Palace!! Also we felt completly safe in Mexico the whole time!!! Don't hesitate to vacation there just because of the news!

Room Tip: The Deluxe Family Suite was Amazing.

Ok
I dont typically write reviews but here goes. I travel to the Riviera Maya section of Mexico annually and never stay in the same hotel twice. For no reason other than I would like to see different hotels. That having been said, i recently visited the Cove palace with my wife and 3 daughters ages 12, 10 and 6. We had a fantastic time. The hotel was very clean, the staff crazy nice and helpful. The food was ok, not horrible like some people have said. I think the people who write negative things about all-inclusive food are confused. People need to realize they are in a foreign country and things are going to taste different from what they are used to. Take it from me, I am as picky of an eater as they come. Now if you are a beach person, this is not the hotel for you. The hotel has a beautiful pool and a magnificent natural reef in lieu of a beach. If you love to sit pool side or snorkel in a natural reef setting than I cannot say enough about this hotel. Amazing. If you are the type of person who just likes to hang out and enjoy the beach, this is not the hotel for you. The night life and late night activities could use a little work. Would I return to the hotel in the future, absolutely after I visit the rest of the hotels that Mexico has to offer.

We just returned from 1 week at the Aventuras Cove Palace. The service was unbelievable. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. There was only about 12% occupancy so it was very quiet. We saw the same families everywhere we went (restaurants, pool, nightly entertainment). The food was very good. On 3 different occasions my husband went over to the Spa side to get take-out sushi. We have 2 kids (1 and 11) so we couldn't eat in the restaurants over there. Getting take-out was very easy though. We even brought the sushi take-out in to the casual pizza/pasta buffet restaurant and our kids ate that food while we ate our sushi. The staff was very, very accommodating. I had 2 massages at the spa and they were both wonderful. I got my hair cut at the Spa side beauty salon and it was a very good hair cut. I had a spa pedicure and it was the best pedicure I've ever had. My daughter got her hair braided in the beauty salon on the Cove side and it turned out so cute. The nightly entertainment was fun, especially the drum/fire dancing show. We really liked eating dinner at the steakhouse which had amazing steaks. We used the kayaks in the lagoon and went snorkeling. That was really fun and we saw lots of great fish. We took a roll from lunch at the buffet to feed to the fish which brought lots of fish to us. We did the monkey tour (Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 4pm) and saw monkeys in the trees, even one with a baby on its back. We spent a little time in the kids club and Carolina was sooooo nice!!! We spent a day at Xpu-Ha Palace (we had a rental car so we drove there- about 10 minutes away). We had a private tour of the property which was so fun. We used their kayaks and paddled around the estuary. We spent time at that pool and we ate breakfast there. That was a very fun day. We also took the free shuttle bus (leaves at 8:50am and comes back at 4:10pm) to the Playacar Palace in Playa Del Carmen which is only about 20 minutes away. The food was incredible there and the service was top notch. The beach there was gorgeous! We took a tour (similar to a timeshare presentation) at Aventura Cove. They promised it would only be 90 minutes. They were very nice, not high pressure at all. We spent 2 hours and 15 minutes with them but it was not unpleasant at all. We got $750 in credits at the resort and it was well worth it! We stayed in the accordian building and thought that was a perfect location, close to the pool and lagoon.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Accordian building.
