“Beautiful Atmosphere, Excellent Service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

If you are visiting Ixtapa this is a beautiful restaurant choice. The outdoor seating area and ocean views are wonderful. This visit I ordered the jicama rolls as my starter which I should of shared (but did not), and they were a wonderful fresh flavorful surprise. The starter menu is huge - it was hard to choose. The entertainment was the monkeys who frequent the adjoining lot's stairs, playing, and as you peak over the oceanfront rails you can see the racoons mulling around. It was like a little zoo. The lush tropical surroundings are the jewel here, and the service level was five star.

“Expensive....not worth it”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

Well we were just in Ixtapa..we were told to go for a dring..to enjoy the view...we should have stopped there. We opted for dinner...well it was passable...very fishy fish...we are seasoned travelers..this isn't worth the minimum $100 ..go to a local fare...

“Try it at least once.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

For the visitor and those who don't wish to venture into Zihuatanejo, Villa de la Selva is an excellent choice. The view of the Ixtapa bay is outstanding and the food is delicious. However, it's "gringo food", cooked and prepared the way you would like it in the USA, but good nonetheless. If you're like us and prefer the authentic and original Mexican fare we recommend going down the road 7 km to Zihua and to where the locals dine. You'll find it livelier and many have live music that you're sure to enjoy. The prices are better, too.
