“Wonderful seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

The new location in the Ixtapa Palace hotel has been there about 3 months, and it appears to already have a loyal following. We ate there 4 times during our visit, and were never disappointed. The camarones rellenos are particulary exceptional, good sized shrimp wrapped in bacon and then grilled crisp, with a tangy cheese sauce. Each time we visited, one of the owners came to the table, and always thanked us for our visit. A nice personal touch.

“El Tiburon in Ixtapa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2014

El Tiburon has a restaurant inside the Ixtapa Palace in the heart of Ixtapa. We met the very well spoken owner and the food was great and so were the prices.

“Excellent local seafood, but off the beaten track”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

Like the other reviews, very clean, good service, great food, very reasonable. My wife had lobster and I had mahi Veracruz. Both plates came with a salad of fresh lettuce, avocado slices, cucumber and sliced tomato, buttery mashed potatoes and rice. I'm guessing I had a little under a half pound of fish and the Veracruz sauce had really good flavor with fresh thyme and bay leaf mixed in with the cooked tomatoes, onions and peppers. I thought they were cooked well because the peppers and onions were cooked, but still had a bit of crunch to them. The lobster was local and fairly small, three halves with what I would guess was about six ounces of tail meat. Again nicely cooked, not chewy or dry. Our bill with a couple limonadas was about 300 pesos, of which 180 was for the lobster, which would be double that in town. I'd say it was a little over ten minutes out of Ixtapa just off the old road north to Troncones. We met the owner Eremis, pronounced like Aramis, very nice man, spoke some English and made us feel welcome. They are not open for dinner and usually close around six pm. As another reviewer stated, the picture is not right, Tiburon is not on the water; it is just off the old highway on the maIn road into one of the small towns north of Ixtapa on the second floor. You can also reach it by turning off the beach road beyond Club Med and the water taxis to Ixtapa Island, but I would recommend against it. The road was terrible and full of deep potholes. We will definitely go back! Even though its a bit of a drive, this place is in the rotation for sure.

“Don't believe the picture”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013 via mobile

Unless I am mistaken, this place is just off the side of highway 200 about half way between Ixtapa and Troncones.

Have heard the food is good here from friends but don't go expecting the view in the picture shown on TA, this place is inland, near the side of the highway.
