While we can't speak to the hotel qualities and amenities (we live in Ixtapa), the restaurant is situated right on the beach. Casual atmosphere, genuine friendliness and good food at reasonable prices. Not much different from the string of restaurants along Playa la Ropa but near the end of the beach. We'd have to give the "restrooms" a minus one or less as they are absolutely filthy! We've experienced El Pirata many, many times and the restrooms are always the same: filthy! But don't let that stop you from enjoying a beautiful day at the beach. Go para-sailing, Jet boating, banana boating and just literally whatever you like. Enjoy authentic Mexico.
