When I get a "burger craving" in the Zihuatanejo / Ixtapa area; I go to Rubens. They serve real good burgers, and for a different twist, they serve hot marinades on the side.
The burgers and fries here are pretty good,but have a long way to go to catch up to Canadian and Americanburger joint.If you are a burgerologist like myself you will be a bit dissapointed by the hype surrounding the place but will have a fair meal none the less.It is just a tad overpriced.

Rubens burgers are ok. Not really thick patties, but lot's of toppings and tasty. Fries are skinny, and you get a large serving.
Ruben's was a great place to go get something that your digestive system is more use to! We love Mexican food but sometimes our stomach needs a break. The portions were huge and fries were fantastic. Service was fast and prices good. You also got a break from the vendors interupting you while you ate.
We go to Ruben's at least once a week during the winter. The burgers with cheese and bacon (fried onions and coleslaw) are always good, hot and delicious. Fries are hot and crisp and the beer is cold. Still love it.
