Just arrived back at our holiday cottage after another amazing meal at The Journeyman. This was our third visit, each time the food has been excellent and a visit is a must for anyone within travelling distance of St Issey. The restaurant is small but has a fantastic atmosphere with original oak beams and floor boards and some classic tunes playing in the background.
My wife, baby daughter and I booked for 7pm but called to see if it would be a problem if we arrived earlier, this was not a problem at all despite the restaurant only having 6 tables. We arrived at 18:30, were greeted warmly and seated with room for our pushchair.
My wife and I ordered the sizzling chicken tikka and Lamb Shaslick staters followed by both of us having the Classic Lamb Balti (medium) with basmati rice and naan bread. The food was extremely tasty and beautifully spiced, hot enough that we could enjoy all the flavours.
We both finished off with Lemon & Ginger cheesecake which was excellent.
With drinks the bill was only £52 ! Excellent value ! I only with we could order takeaway from Leeds so we could enjoy the food more often !
So good we booked again for Friday before we left the restaurant !
