Cuisines: Mexican
Description: Octavio and Christina have a fabulous menu of ribs, chicken, steak, fish and tacos. The restaurant is open year round, the prices are good and the BBQ is to die for. I had the best grilled whole pacific lobster. It was huge. My husband had a steak that he said was very tender and flavourful.

Good food all the time, but especially on Sundays where the restaurant offered a Prime Rib roast dinner.

“Tacos, lamb chops and more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

One of the best taco places in Melaque. This small family run reataurant is the only restaurant that serves loin lamb chops and they do it well. They have recently moved towards the centre of town and are more accessible. Great spot! In addition they do roast beef dinners on Sunday!

“Not in Barra but what the heck...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013 via mobile

Restaurant Scooby is located in the Villa Obregon portion of Melaque and accessible on the Orange Bus route right by the bus drivers check in station. Prime Rib Sunday is a favorite with Expats, Long Stayer's and Two Weeker's alike. A thick slab of Mexican beef "Prime Rib" over roasted then wood charcoal BBQ finished. Beef quality and service can be uneven but this place has no shortage of customers. Come early because they can run out. There are other daily specials. Take care not to sit too close to the BBQ and the road. It can get hot, smoky and dusty there. Good value for your money. Cheers

“Cheap, plentiful and good.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

Gringos swear by this place and for good reason! Make sure someone tells you exactly how to get there because none of the locals know. We got lost a couple of times but it was worth it in the end.

Believe it or not, this little meat shack has an actual chef running the place. He makes the best ribs this side of the rio grande, and for 50 pesos. It's a deal that just can't be beat. Besides that - beer for 10 pesos? How does he do it?

Everything on the menu is excellent and really cheap. If you don't mind eating with seedy denizens of the english-speaking Barra/Melaque underworld, you owe it to your tummy to try Scooby out!
