“First time, hopefully not my last”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

Went there August 2013. The service was good, and it was obvious that the cook loved his work, the food was great and freshly cooked, he even came out to chat to some of his regulars. I would go there again. I know that it is not in the same class as the 'posh' restaurants around, but then it does not pretend to be. It is a 'good value for your money' little restaurant.

“Stay clear unless you want a good laugh!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

Everything was terrible, the staff were a bunch of little girls from the local council estate, preferred to slag off the chef rather than just apologise for my breakfast taking over 30 minutes to come, they were also doing this to every other table too, very disrespectful to the boss! Food was terrible, didn't bring the toast to go with my breakfast but I couldn't be bothered to ask for it. Couldn't wait to get out of there, big mistake and a waste of £6, should have waited in line at the bluebird cafe round the corner! Honestly it was a laugh! The boss needs to have a good chat to his staff to get their act together, anyone would take their place in a second and be grateful of a job, that place will not last another year, word will spread! Shame!

“Big mistake for a last minute lunch”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

At first the restaurant (appearance suggests more like a cafe) seemed pleasant. After waiting 10 minutes to be acknowledged we then received the poor excuse of a menu, which was stuck together by who knows what. We then waited another 15 minutes to be served, despite giving the 'I'm ready to order' glances to the waitresses. We ordered a lamb roast, fish burger and 2 teas which took them 15 minutes to bring just the tea out after coming to confirm the drinks order. The tables were too crammed in, people were struggling to get to the till to pay. One customer had a problem with their order, the young waitress admitted it was her fault and the customer didn't seem too worried but as she told the older waitress (directly behind the customer) what had happened the older waitress pulled a 'who cares' face. When the food came out it looked like it had been microwaved 3 times then left to cool down, the roast potatoes looked overcook and were soft, the gravy tasteless and veg was going brown. The fish burger was like an oversized fish finger that was overcooked and solid. The microwave was in view and it was on constantly, the noise was annoying after a while. There were 2 older men lurking in the kitchen, no whites on or hats etc, one of then reached into the dish were the chips were with his hand and grabbed a handful and disappeared to no doubt gobble them up! I hope not to put on a plate! All I could taste was fat for hours after, it was the worst meal I've had in a long time and that includes greasy kebabs on a satuday night!
