“Beautiful hotel with some details”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

We stayed at the MM Grand Puebla for four nights . The hotel is new, in one of the most commercial and moved areas of the city, surrounded by malls , restaurants , on a street full of cars.
However, just enter in the hotel grounds is like being in another world . Surrounded by a wooded area , the atmosphere is very quiet and pleasant. All the staff is very friendly and kind.
The room has surprisingly tasteful furnishings and a large-scale bathroom , well-equipped , but no door, that maybe not everybodies like. The bed is very comfortable and spacious.
The breakfast, in a separate building, was very good.
What takes away points is the fact that the window all you see is a pink painted wall, and has no pool.
For this category of hotel , this fact takes away a pair of stars . Was not available the gym, they told us was in repairs.
We also had problems with the air conditioner , we asked repeatedly that compose it , but did not. Not hot air , so at night it was very cold in the room.
We also had a water leak in the wc , but hava a solution quickly.
As I said, it's a very confortable and quiet new hotel, with some minors details to improve . The price was very convenient.

Stayed there once about a month ago. Very happy with the room and the service. Everyone is very nice there especially the receptionist.
However, quite disappointed with the service person in their restaurant. From my experience, the waiter took his share from my change (after i have paid the bill) as his tips without me knowing. Awful.
Other than that, everything is perfect. Will stay there again and will definitely check my change before leaving tips for the waiter/waitress.

Room Tip: Every room is good room...

We were looking for a nice place to stay for New Year´s Eve near Mexico City and chose Puebla. We did not know an specific hotel and found MM Grand. What a great surprise! Outstanding location and awsome decoration. Rooms were very comfortable and classy!. Hotel had their own New Year's Eve gala dinner so we did not have to go outside. Rates were very affordable too. Overall, it was a great experience and we will come back whenever we are in town.

The hotel is 10 minutes from Puebla downtown!

The building is brand new, with a mixture of traditional and very modern design, and has great facilities.

Very large room space, excellent prices, very good service!

Food is great!

We would come back any day!

We chose this hotel based on the few positive reviews, all of which were by residents of Mexico, leaving us somewhat unsure as to what to expect since we speak limited Spanish and had never been to this part of Mexico before. Never-the-less we came to experience the real Mexico...not some Americanized version of it. We could not have been more pleased with the choice...we had a wonderful 4 days at the MM Grand and the towns of Puebla and Cholula, although the traffic to the Zocalo was horrible. Worse than what we experienced in Mexico City. It took 45 minutes to get back to the hotel one afternoon! Be sure to have the hotel address with you as the Taxi drivers have no idea where this hotel is located as it's new and they have not heard of it.

The Jr. Suite was perfect. Comfortable bed, TV with several American stations, excellent dining room, delicious food, and great service. The facility was very clean and the grounds beautifully landscaped. Amazing how quiet it was considering it's central location. The only noise issue experienced was the Friday night when a large group staying in the hotel decided to party in the wee hours of the morning in the courtyard. Since our room faced the courtyard we were kept awake a couple hours while the partiers hollered and shouted. The hotel does have a banquet facility and obviously caters to those hosting special events, so if you are there during one of those occasions there may be another such disturbance. We would have expected management to curtail the party, but then again, this is Mexico and this is how they celebrate, so who are we to dictate their behavior? Just beware!

The open bedroom/bathroom situation may be an issue with some as there is no door...not even to the toilet room. The bathroom was lovely with 2 sinks and separate tub. Having the Walmart a block away was also great. Our first stop after settling in to stock the bar! If ever back in Puebla this would likely be our choice.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights as a side trip from Mexico City. We went with this one over the other obvious choices like the Marriott or the Hilton based on the excellent reviews that it had on Tripadvisor. And, well, we agree with the reviews.

This is a "boutique" hotel off a major boulevard in Puebla. However, once you're on the hotel campus, you will immediately feel the calmness of its environments. This hotel is compact but efficient. The landscape and interiors are well designed, with form and function enhancing each other well. The architect made the right trade-offs by keeping the lobby modest but elegant, while devoting ample space to the guest rooms. We had a "junior" suite, the smallest room they offer, but it was big enough to fit me, my husband, and our grown daughter well. The interiors of the room are very elegantly and creatively decorated, with beautiful, inspiring artwork everywhere. They are truly as nice as the pictures shown on their website.

The hotel restaurant is also top-notched, and the menu is very reasonably priced. Most of the dinner entrees are between US $10-$20, and they are of 5-star hotel restaurant quality. The most unique aspect of this restaurant is the artwork throughout. They are original pieces done by one artist, creating a very interesting visual theme throughout the dining room.

Overall, the hotel service was also excellent. The front desk staff tried to be as helpful as possible.

Why didn't I give it a 5-star rating? Well, there are a couple things that I think could be improved.

First, the bathroom is designed with a truly "open" floor plan. There are no doors separating the bathroom from the rest of the guest room. That means, the bathtub, the shower, and the toilet are visible by anyone at all times, if they choose to come into the bathroom area. That could be a bit of a problem when you are sharing the room with others. I suppose I'm used to a bit more privacy than what this room offers.

Second, the restaurant staff, while attentive for the most part, loved to turn up the TV when the restaurant was not busy. I did not find that to be fitting of a high-end restaurant that the facility is meant to be.

One final point--and this is not a criticism, but rather, an alert for those thinking of choosing this hotel: While it is very close to shopping (with a Walmart and a mall/cinema complex only a block away), it is quite far from the town center (the Zocalo). But this should not be a problem because the hotel can get you a taxi and it's cheap, costing only about US$5-$7.

Overall, this hotel is a great choice. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Puebla.

Last week I had to travel to Puebla for business, a friend of mine suggested this new hotel.
the hotel is very nice and new, modern but with taste and lots of colors , I felt at home.
the services in good , but the staff is grate, very friendly and willing to go the extra mile for You.
I was very surprise as to the location , is close to everything, You are Puebla, but you are in the middle of a peaceful and beautiful wooded area, no noise I could not believe it.

Real nice property.

Room Tip: All rooms are very spacious , Mine was at the second floor overlooking at the mane garden very quiet...
