“Essential Amino-Acids Of Proteins Only Through Dairies”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

You won't leave La Zanahoria hungry when you take the buffet; it's plenty of food. The unlucky thing is, that this restaurant is not to advice for people who cannot eat dairies, since all protein, which have the essential amino-acids (necessary for the body to be able to absorb the non-essential amino-acids of the vegetable proteins with 3 exceptions: quinoa, seaweed and spirulina/chlorella) come from dairies.
When you have eaten here a few times you also feel that food has always the kind of same taste.

“Vegetarian Restaurante”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

This vegetarian restaurant is in the heart of the city, just a few blocks from the Zocalo. This is a great option if you are either a vegetarian or just looking for healthy, tasty food. This is not a fancy restaurant, in fact, it's very simple, but the food is really good, and though the service can be slow, you can always expect a smile from everybody there.
Zanahoria restaurante also in the Juarez steet.

“Underwhelmed to say the least”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

So yes, you could call us Lonely Planet junkies in the way that we only seem to try places they recommend, but since my wife is a vegetarian and since most of the places in Oaxaca and Puebla emphasize the meat, we just had to check this place out.
Maybe it was the time of day (5:30 p.m.) but we had a hard time getting a waitress to come to our table. I mad the mistake of ordering from the buffet ($69 M) which turned out to have mostly cold food that had been sitting out for hours.
My wife ordered the mushroom filled crepes with green sauce -- big mistake – could not eat more than one. Again food was cold, including the soup.
The most interesting part of the meal was the bread, the alfalfa water with lemon that they served up for free and the cup of coffee at the end of the meal.
The whole experience had me wishing for a Taco Gringa at the Las Ranas!

“Great restaurant if you like vegetarian food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Monday and the food quality, flavor and variety was excellent.
Great value for money!
My partner is vegetarian and was very impressed with all this details.
Building is beautiful and it has a water fountain in the middle.
They only need to fix their sound system, it was playing some beautiful classical music unfortunately the speakers couldnt support it.
Definitely i plan to come back!
