I am an American visiting Morelia for business with only a few Spanish words in my toolbox.
First of all the hotel rooms are modern. I was on the top floor 5th and there is a balcony area off to the side of the room but it is closed off with frosted glass. I wish there was a window to get some fresh air. The room never really gets cold even with the air at full blast. I asked them about it but not sure if there was anything they could do.
Wifi in the room and in the lobby was very reliable making it easy to call the family over Skype.
Rooms are equipped with a flat screen and hundreds of channels. At any given time you will probably only find 10-20 English speaking stations and it changes. It would be nice if they provided a channel guide but I just made my own. There are tons of movie channels. It storms a lot here but even in heavy rain the signal was unaffected.
The restaurant has a pretty full menu however ordering is tricky. I found it was easier to write things down. The prices are good but the quality of the steaks were inconsistent. First night was great but second night was not. Be sure to try the Tarasca soup.
The bar is pretty cool and the bar staff was very friendly and attentive. One person called Ringo was super cool and patient with my translation issues.
This is the best place I have stayed so far in Morelia. The other places just felt old and run down.
Pros: tv, wifi, friendly, modern
Cons: language barrier, room temp, no windows
