“Best motel in New zealand :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

I Have stayed in many motel and hotels around the world and new Zealand and the vista is one of the best motels I say in .
Peter the owner will go out of his why to make your stay happy and enjoyable . .
The rooms are nice and very clean ,most have good kitchens with full sized ovens ,the showers are great to (no water saving shower heads in this motel , only full pressure ones) .
The on site Restaurant really good .
If your room has no microwave or fan and you need one just ask peter and he will get one .
i stay in this motel regularly when i work in Wairoa .
Sure there are newer more modern motels in new Zealand but for a small rural town with only 5000 people i think the vista is the best :)

This hotel is basic for sure but spotlessly clean and the property has a really neat feel to it!
Tropical...............there are some palm trees..............lots of flowers. nice pool (we were there in the winter so not open) We had the best fish and chips at the restaurant on site. Very friendly and helpful owner. We were not in the correct room at first- as I had booked a one bedroom suite and Peter quickly moved us and we had a spacious room with separate bedroom. We had microwave etc....
The only negative was that the tv in the bedroom did not work. (remote needed battery? ) not sure. Electric blanket and extra blankets kept us toasty warm. Fabulous value. Very clean room.

Room Tip: we had room #12---very nice and spacious- kitchen and table. separate bedroom. Quiet. I would not...

This motel is on the main highway but set back off the road enough to make it peaceful. I agree with other reviewers that it is a little dated but very comfortable and more important very clean. This accommodation is within easy walking distance to the shopping area and supermarket. There was everything one could wish for in the very spacious unit and I enjoyed a very comfortable stay.

Units straight from the (early) 70s, no microwave, bathroom just like your grandparents used to have. And if you want clean nice tasting water out of the tap forget it and the hot water is a lovely pale shade of grey

stayed there for 1 night with my wife and baby.
room was ugly , old and tired with stains on carpet and sofas and a bad smell.
shower was gust high enough for a very short person.
we arrived there at late hour after a long drive and we where glad we arrived late and only have to spend there one night after we saw the room.
price is much too high for this kind of accommodation.
do yourself a fever and try somewhere else.

Stayed one night. Got a good sleep in a comfortable bed, and everything I needed was there. Although the unit was dated it was definitely not shabby, everything worked, the shower was good and the staff very friendly and helpful. The prices seem a little high for the quality of the accommodation (cw other towns), but given there are only two motels in Wairoa you have little choice.

Room Tip: Quite a noisy main road beside the complex (lots of trucks) so the further back from the road you ar...
