“Perfect place if you don't like an all inclusive hotel :-)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

Super new, clean hotel with nice modern-style furniture. Great complimentary breakfast, especially the omelet which will be made for you :-) But the people really make the difference: such friendly and considerate staff (have to mention Marco from the reception - thanks for all your help). It takes less than five minutes to go to the public beach with free shades and a super friendly lifeguard who even offered us two boogie boards to use.
BTW: Take the public bus from the airport (in front of the parking space of terminal 1) to the Mega Store, from there it's only 2 more minutes by foot. It only costs a $1 per person and is a great way to travel with locals.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 326 which has a beautiful view to the ocean and the hills.

Just back from a one week stay at the Hyatt Place in San Jose Del Cabo. What a wonderful experience!
The hotel is new and very stylish. The common areas, grounds and rooms are spotlessly clean and well maintained. The location is convenient to transit, the beach and the Mega for snacks and sundries. A 10 peso fare on the Transportes Urbano Y Suburbano bus will whisk you to the historic centre of San Jose in no time. The pool is small but perfect for a dip after a hot day shopping or sightseeing. Breakfast is included in the room rate and is served from 7:00 to 10:00 AM. There are all kinds of hot items, eggs ready made or cooked to your liking, lots of fresh fruit, pastries, yoghurt and juices. Truly a fantastic bargain! You can, and we did, dine in the hotel as well. We also enjoyed Villa Valentina several times for lunch and dinner. A 2 minute walk from the hotel with excellent food and atmosphere.
However, the best thing about this hotel is the staff. Everyone is so helpful and friendly! Big thanks to Astrid, Edgar and ALL the other wonderful crew! They helped us with everything from car rentals to answering all of our questions about the area. I looked forward to their warm smiles and greetings every morning. Management should be very proud of these people!
Hasta la vista y gracias por todos!

Room Tip: If you can, ask for a room on the front of the hotel, facing the ocean. Not only a great view, but a...

I stayed at the Hyatt Place while I was in San Jose for the Ironman Los Cabos. I ordinarily stay at more luxury hotels, but given that this was a hotel associated with the race, I went for the convenience and was so pleasantly surprised!! The room was immaculate- clean, well appointed and bright. The bedding was quite comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and had bright light and a lovely shower and tub. The service was phenomenal. Haydee was particularly kind and accommodating. She was super attentive and informative!! The continental breakfast includes house made egg, sausage, pancakes, a variety of fruit, cheese and meat and baked products. It was changed everyday with various specialties. It was really good. Great pool, beautiful lobby. Good time.

Very nice place. New, clean, large rooms and great service. 24 hour kitchen with hot food available. A very large, white sandy beach is across the street. It's on the quiet side of San Jose, but you can walk 10-20 minutes to great restaurants with live music. It's next door to Villa Valentina, a very beautiful restaurant, which closes early (9:30 PM I think), but it's worth the 2 minute walk. Villa V has delicious food with entrees from $20-$45. Very nice. There is a large mall 4 minutes from the hotel with everything from a large supermarket to Starbucks and McDonalds.

Room Tip: Even numbered rooms have a nice view of the beach.

This place is very clean, great service and great place! Oh yes breakfast is included!! Its more than your typical continental breakfast! Not too far from places. You can literally take the local buses everywhere for 25 pesos!!! If you want to save on a airport ride ask the front desk to direct you to the local bus! :)

A new modern hotel, comfortable with friendly staff in an ideal location, this Hyatt Place is the perfect destination for a weekend or longer. We stayed three nights making a long weekend and had an amazing visit. Located one block from a large beach, adjacent to the Mega superstore and across the street from the city bus, its very convenient for exploring San Jose, being lazy on the beach or taking the bus to Cabo San Lucas.

Our room was large and immaculately clean. It had a large sofa in a sitting area, king size bed with crisp white linens, a modern bathroom and view of the ocean. The hotel staff was always friendly and accommodating.

A breakfast buffet is served each with an elaborate variety of well-prepared breakfast foods. There is ample seating for breakfast, including an outdoor veranda overlooking the street and a view of the beach. There are also several good restaurants in the area.

Paseo Malecon, the street in front of the hotel is perfect for a morning run or a long walk as it passes some large resorts, shops, restaurants and ends at a protected estuary about a mile away. The same street also leads to downtown San Jose where you will find a charming town square area with genuine local cafes and shops. Its an easy, long walk or you can take the city bus for $1 from the front of the hotel.

If you want to venture out to bigger, bolder Cabo San Lucas, you can find the bus across street from the Mega. Running every 15-minutes, its about a 30-minute ride for $3. The hotel staff is very good with local information about the sights or how to get around.

This comfortable hotel was a perfect weekend getaway for us with the location being very convenient to everything to see or do in the area.

Room Tip: Our King room had a large shower but no tub. It was perfect for us, but a family with young kids ma...
