The Hyatt Ziva is exactly what you see in pictures very elegant, staff is out to please and make your stay memorable. Since our stay was a last minute special on Expedia we flew on Spirit, since I work for another carrier and I was a paying passenger on this trip I would like to say I was even surprised how much they nickeled & dimed you to death so if the fare looks good its to good to be true. Even though the Hyatt offers a transportation option it's expensive so as I read reviews on TA I used Los Cabo transportation service most cost effective for 3 peeps. Booked and paid on line, printed vouchers to & from airport came off without a hitch, would recommend. We arrived early 9:30 am and this was the only snag in our trip, of course check out time isn't until 12:00 but we were told that they would have a room ready in about an hour so we left our bags, explored the property had our inclusive bracelets on went to breakfast and returned about 90 min or so later. Told us another hour & this went on until 1:30. Oh, and I forgot to say one of our bags on Spirit which was ck in early did not make it because the flt was weight restricted and of course it was my "only" bag. Apparently Expedia and other travel sites only have certain rooms available, at this time the hotel lost some of its luster when it was short on customer service in this area. We stay a Hyatts and use Expedia a bunch never had this senario. On the up side bag arrived shortly after getting room cooled off literally in pool which was beautiful and continued with making memories. Our room was facing the kids pool which was quiet all kids were in "adult" pool with a partial ocean view 4th floor. The clientele at Ziva is a lot of repeat customers from all over the world so we over looked the ck in glitch after our first day. The staff at all the restaurants work very hard to make your dining experience great and we always tipped to show our thanks and trust me you get a lot more for a few extra $$$. We enjoyed all restaurtants but we warned men must wear pants and closed toe shoes no exceptions for evening dining. The beach is carefully watch by a life guard hired by the Hyatt to watch beach area, undertow is bad so they really discourage swimming. Husband said how bad could it be? One morning walk on beach calf deep he got hit by wave slammed him down he didn't know what happened, happy to report he's alive. They have swimming in certain areas but you have to take transportation. We took local transportation which is easy to get in front of hotel to downtown area for shopping or to Los Cabo go to grocery store across street bus runs regularly small cost several stops but quick ones worth the saving, cabs very expensive if you want to go several times. It's safe lots of international tourists on local transportation. If you want to adventure you really have to go outside the area but there's a desk in front to book all sorts of excursions. The pools are beautiful but they don't really enforce "adults" only pool. In the evening they had entertainment that even my teenage daughter (18) enjoyed, family oriented and popular themes, family friendly we looked forward to it every night.

Room Tip: All local transportation easy to access with cost savings for everywhere and we felt very safe.

Never drawn to staying at an all-inclusive, but we were going to be traveling with 3 adults & 5 kids, so it seemed the easiest solution. So glad we tried this place. Setting was beautiful, service was excellent, and the food was fantastic! All in all, better than we could have imagined it would be. The kids are already asking when we can go back.

With very hospitable staff and good service, Hyatt Ziva is a nice place to come with your family and relax. As an all-inclusive resort, you do not have to worry about food or drinks, only about your weight and sun-screen. Restaurants are good, with variety of choices - make sure you arrive early, though. In the evening, it is not unusual to wait for table more than 45 minutes.
Breakfast buffet (International Restaurant) is excellent, but repetitive if you stay for more than a week. Waiters are accommodating, and tips improve their attention exponentially. The absolute star is Eduardo - find a seat in central area and you will be served like royalty.
Beach, as you may know, is not suitable for swimming (it IS dangerous!), but pools are more than big enough. Make sure you reserve your spot early (sunrise!).
Evening program is satisfactory, with show about Mexico and its culture a standout. Otherwise, have a few drinks, sleep early and hit the pool at 7am - yes, this is a family-oriented place. :-)

We had very little expectations from this resort as we where essentially stuck going there for a wedding.
We where pleasantly surprised, the food and drinks where excellent.
great rooms,clean grounds.
kids club and kids pool in disrepair.
beach useless
good service
pools are very poorly maintained with people vomiting in them and sticky floors from sunscreen residues,I'm not sure why they bother measuring the pH...
overall good experience but would not bother going back

Was here the first week in August with our family. We loved the hotel. Pretty close to the airport (about 20 minutes away), the hotel was very nice and clean! The check in process was the only area where the hotel needed improvement. The guy at the front (can't remember his name) was rushing us through the process, even though the line was short and he wasn't very accommodating for my sister in law. The guy who checked my family in was great, he even upgraded our room to a suite! ;)

The food was ok. We waited over an hour for the Japanese restaurant and honestly, it was just ok.

The pool was nice and big, never full. It was crazy to me that every single morning by 8am all the chairs/tables around the pool would be "occupied/reserved" with people's belongings stacked on there however there were barely any people in the pool! So advice would be to get up at 7:30 and lock down some chairs by the pool!

The shows were entertaining, the kids enjoyed them very much.

No complaints about this place... I would definitely take the family back here for a vacation!
