“Amazing Visit- the first of many!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

From the time we got there I knew it was a good choice. I've stayed in Cabo before at some nice places but this place was the real deal. The service was impeccable, and since Hyatt took it over from Barcelo about 6 months ago, they have made a few positive changes to round out the amazingness.

The food was VERY good. For an all inclusive, that was pretty surprising. The drinks were also strong and they had tons of choices. It has been my experience in other AI's that they water down the drinks or give little cups or what have you. Definitely not the case here. Also, the 5 a la carte dinner restaurants and you didn't have to have a reservation for any of them. Some times there was a wait but we just went to the bar and waited. We enjoyed the Japanese restaurant the best, try the Teppanyaki table.

We had a swim up room, which was seriously awesome and worth the upgrade. It was great to not have to fight for a pool chair and to be able to jump in the pool and swim over to the bar. We were in the adult area, but was perfect for us. Although the resort was definitely not overrun with kids. We spent tons of time there. The swim up room was also considered a "premium" room, so there was a special lounge with food and top shelf liquor open all day. It wasn't necessary, but it had a great ocean view so we did go up there a bit. One thing I would recommend Hyatt do is tell you about the premium room upon check in. Had I not read it on Trip Advisor I wouldn't have known!

Also, there was no hassle on time shares, hidden charges, or the things I have heard of happening at other hotels. We checked out and owed nothing. No one asked us to buy anything except the guys on the beach when you went up to them. That was refreshing!

We are already planning a mid September re-visit.

Room Tip: Swim up rooms are awesome and private. Try the adults only pool side, you can swim right into the ad...

We stayed 3 nights in a ocean view room in the main building. There is so many awesome stuff at this resort that I'll have to start with the negatives.

Cons.

Faulty curtains. Maybe its just my room but we had to call maintenance on a daily basis to get them to fix the electronic curtains so we could open it and enjoy the view.

Housekeeping. On the second day they forgot to fill our water bottles in the mini fridge and we ran out of tissues in the bathroom. I had to call twice to them stocked.

Loud AC system. Thankfully there are 2 setting but the highest setting is extremely loud.

Slow Wifi. It wasn't unusable but it got down to ~0.1Mbps during heavy use times.

Hungry Seagulls. If you're eating at a table pool side they will attack your food the second you leave it unattended i.e to take a photo next to the pool. So be sure to finish or discard those corn chips before leaving the table.

Pros.

Everything else. Apart from those minor issues our stay was perfect.

Food. I think i gained about 5 pound from the buffets alone. Huge variety of everything and it changed daily. The beef ribs were just incredible. We only had time to try the french restaurant and it was quite nice, but avoid the "champagne".

Service. A special mention to our server Isidoro at the main buffet restaurant, pulling out my wife's chair and carrying her plate to the table every time she got up, our glasses were never empty. Pool side servers were prompt and attentive. We attended a water aerobics class which was lots of fun and ran by a super friendly "Mexican Hercules dude" (sorry forgot your name).

Nightly Shows. There's a different show on each night at 9pm. We managed to go to the Mexican show which was really entertaining and fun. The resort isn't near any night life like in Cabo so its nice that they provide entertainment at night.

Location. Great if you just want to stay at the resort and have a relaxing time. There isn't much shopping around except the MEGA (similar to walmart) which is 5 mins walk away. There is a shuttle service that leaves hourly to Cabo.

Overall.

It was a much needed relaxing stay in the sun and we'll definitely return to Ziva when we're in Cabo. For those who want a quiet and relaxing all-inclusive resort experience then I'd definitely recommend checking this place out.

Room Tip: Get a oceanview room but forget about paying for premium access. Its not worth the $100 difference j...

We chose to celebrate our wedding at the Hyatt Ziva and it was a fantastic choice! The resort is beautiful and the staff are amazing.

With regards to the wedding; service and communications were easy and prompt from the start, Carmen and Ari were a pleasure and very well organized and our wedding could not have gone more smoothly.

Our room was excellent, very clean and well maintained. Talking with guests there with us for the wedding they had similarly positive things to say about their rooms and if there ever was an issue maintenance took care of it immediately.

Service at the resort was top notch across the board! Special mentions to Fernanda who was most helpful checking us in and getting us organized when we arrived and Hector the waiter who was always fun and made sure we were well looked after whenever we saw him.

Our only concern going in was about construction with the recent transition however everything was seamless and business as usual.

Overall our stay was exceptional and we would not hesitate to recommend the resort to anyone of any age for a wonderful vacation!

This was a exceptional resort. This trip was the first to Los Cabos for me and my husband as well as staying in a Hyatt resort. The resort was spotless at all times and the welcome staff were amazing. Thank you Rodrigo Corte's for everything you did to make our stay even more comfortable and carefree. The food was fabulous! One of our favorites was the seared tuna.
The pool side suite was so perfect to have alot of relax time and what made it top notch was the service that we received from one awesome gal -- Monica Basctista!! Thank you so much Monica you are awesome. And of course we cannot forget to mention the Martini Bar. It was such a nice view and the excellent service and continual smiles from the staff and our waiter Marco Villanveva made our nightcaps something special. Keep smiling Marco !!
Thanks Again! (Señor Brown - Alberta Canada)

We have gone to the Mayan Riviera and Puerto Vallarta many times but this was our first time in Cabos san Lucas. This resort topped all of the other places we have stayed. Staff are very pleasant and attentive.
Our stay was for 7 days only but there was plenty to do so that we could truly stay put and relax which is exactly what we wanted. In fact we only left the resort once for a sunset sailboat excursion out of Cabos.
The pools are large and clean with plenty of seating both in and out of the sun, the music is subdued and peaceful other than the music used for water aerobics one hour per day which even then was not obtrusive. The chairs on the beach are roped off from the public beach so that you are not bothered by people peddling their wares. There are plenty of comfortable seating areas inside and out, also firepits that they lit at night which was a real treat.
The whole resort is well maintained and exceptionally clean. Even the washrooms off the pool area are modern and cleaned regularly, far better than any others we've seen.
The beach is beautiful and again very clean, we walked 7 or 8 kilometers every morning and always felt safe.
The food is incredible and there are a number of bars (including a Martini bar and a sports bar) to suit your mood. We played pool on occassion while watching the Stanley Cup playoffs (after all.....we are Canadian and Canadians LOVE their hockey!) and used the well-appointed gym many times which was never that busy resulting in a really good workout.
My only complaint (and this may indeed prevent us from going back) is that there are many wonderful restaurants besides the usual buffet however they are SO loud you cannot enjoy a romantic dinner or pleasant conversation with new aquantances at all. We tried the Japanese one evening and left half way through our meal as a result of the noise level. Tried Italian the next night and left before we even opened the menus for the same reason. Most of the noise in the restaurants was the result of families with small (screaming) children. For a resort that has an adults only section in the complex I would suggest that there be set hours of seating in these restaurants for families, and specific hours (possibly later) for adults/couples so that ALL can enjoy the wonderful cuisine.

It was the first time for my husband and myself to go to Los Cabos Mexico We had an amazing time this was our best vacation yet. The staff is excellent we were treated like family and made some excellent friends while staying there. Our maid Teresa Perez was a sweetheart and took very good care of us.Monica Bautista our barmaid was an amazing person hard working friendly and we became fast friends she does a superb job. These gentlemen we met in the buffet Isidoo'o, Abraham, Efren Oliva, and Alberto were so polite and helpful they did an extremely great job everything was clean they help you after you filled your plates taking your plate back to table for you. These gentleman went out of their way to make sure you had everything you needed and more.My husband and i were treated like a king and Queen and we also became very good friends with these gentlemen and have to say we will miss all of these people very much. The hotel staff is friendly and very helpful the hotel was clean and well looked after. The shows we attended were also incredibly well done with amazing dancers and singers. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to go ton Los Cabos and we too will return as we would like to come back to visit the many people we met that have now become some of our dear friends that we will truly miss until we see them once again. My friends and I came to Ziva for a wedding and all enjoyed it. Those of us who were sloths loved soaking up the sun by the three pools, and the beach (although swimming in the ocean was a no go). The only disappointment was that the rooms had food for our enjoyment in our rooms and it was already stall or going bad. We broke open the saran wrap to show the food was "used" but it was not removed the next day. We ended up having to leave it outside, in the walkway, to get it out.

We loved the shower and the bathtub! Ahhh.... just what we needed after a hard day of working on our tans.

The pools were gorgeous, and the servers around the pool were amazingly attentive. There are three - the large one we began with in the morning, the "infinity" pool by the beach with the swim up bar where we moved to around noon, and the adult only pool in a courtyard between the towers where we moved to in the afternoon when the wind came up. While we didn't see the kiddie area, someone I spoke to with a child said it was fun.

There were two buffet dining rooms connected through the food service area and 1) an Italian restaurant (we didn't go to), 2) a French restaurant (delicious!), 3) a Japanese restaurant (get there early to get a seat at one of the two Teppanyaki areas), 4) a Spanish restautant (delicious ... note that the Spanish coffee costs $5 more), 6) a Steak House (we didn't go but there were comments about bottles with gruesome pickled piglets on display, and 7) a Seafood restaurant (supplied food for the wedding, and people were disappointed with the main course so no one we spoke to from our wedding group went to it for any additional meals). There was also a little taco shop by the large pool that allowed us to order lunch and snacks without leaving our suntanning job ... the guacamole was amazing.

Excusions - Most of us took taxis to San Jose and Cabo which were worthwhile. My roommate and I did a whale watching excursion (out of Cabo rather than San Jose so we could see the famous arches at the point) and saw humpbacks. If you go in the whalewatching season, do this! It was amazing. Others in the party did - horseback riding, ATVing, and deepsea fishing.

Room Tip: We got a room in the main building and it allowed us to be close to everything with a decent view ov...
