“Something different”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2014

We had been staying at Cabo Azul and while the resort is amazing, we had been less than impressed overall with the food and the variety on the menu. So, in an effort to do something different, we gave La Galeria a try. The restaurant in and of itself is unique with very hip ecclectic decor. The food is somewhat of a Mexican fusion. There is an awesome combination/use of spices and flavors that will leave your taste buds wanting more. We had a sampling of items including to the Tacos Anita (tempura shrimp with mango pico de gallo and thin unique soft taco)....the flavor was amazing. We also had the palomitas de camaron and the camaron a ago rostizado. Since I don't eat red meat or pork, these dishes were a welcomed delite for me. Being so close to the ocean, you would think sea food would be plentiful....but not the case. The service was nothing short of exceptional. We ordered water forgetting that we actually happened to have our own bottled water with us. That was not a problem as the waiter gladly took our bottles, opened them for us and kept our glasses full as if we had ordered the water directly from the restaurant. The price was reasonable (or at least what you'd expect for the area).....two appetizers, a main dish, and two cocktails later - we were out the door with a bill for $65 (while it may sound a bit pricey, that same order would have been well over $110 at our resort when you throw in the outrageous resort taxes).

So, if you are staying at one of the resorts in the area and are tired of the same menu with expensive taxes at your resort, treat yourself and your taste buds to La Galeria. You won't regret it!

“Yum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2014

I loved stumbling across this restaurant. After some hit or miss service at my hotel, it was so nice to have great service here. Not too pushy, but really helpful when needed. The smoothies were amazing. I really enjoyed the ciabatta sandwich. The restaurant itself is a great location and decorated really cute. Would definitely return!

“Best Meal in Four Days!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014

We were staying down the road at an all inclusive and the food was terrible. We were looking for something delicious and with AC. We walked through the surf shop next door and he said this place was the best. We were blown away by the service and the food! It was AMAZING and worth every penny!

“Fabulous food/Funky decor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Although we were staying at an all-inclusive down the street, we decided to try a local restaurant--and boy were we glad we chose this one. The service was great, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. I think their tagline is 'food is art' or something like that, and it really is. I would highly recommend one of their specialty drinks made with vodka, cucumber, mint, and fresh ginger. The salads are particularly lovely--wish I had taken a picture of mine. I had a beef filet over carmelized onions with a cabernet sauce, and it was perfectly cooked and tender. The night we were there, there was a woman playing an electric violin outside, and she was great. All in all, a wonderful dining experience. And the decor is fun too. It's not inexpensive, but it's well worth the money!
