We took a company trip Jan 10, 2013. There were 4 couples and we all had a great time. The food was excellent, the staff was courteous and helpful. We were given a room with 2 beds the first night, but moved to a king room early the next day. The only complaint about the rooms, the beds are extra firm. The rooms are clean and stocked daily. The weather was not very nice, but that is on Mother Nature, not the resort. The vendors on the beach are kept behind a rope, so we could enjoy the beach, and the pools without being bothered unless you wanted to deal with them. I would recommend this resort.

Well, we just returned Jan 10-17, and I think you get what you pay for here. Positive things, definitely the kids club and water park were awesome and fun. The staff in the kids area were super nice and great with the kids. The pool water was warmer than other places we have stayed which was nice because it was on the cooler side the week we were there. The rooms were clean and spacious and the staff very accommodating if you need something changed....we needed a new bed but didn't want to change rooms so they brought a new one right away...impressive. We had an ocean view upgrade which was worth it and we got a room with a murphy wall bed which was awesome for the kids...ask for a room with one. It was quiet and comfortable and newer TVs were nice. Drinks were very good and service was excellent. But the food....oh its too bad. It wasn't good. It was edible, but disappointing for sure. Breakfast was the best meal. We have stayed in many all inclusives in Mexico and this was by far the worst food. AT some meals a dish might surprise you and you'd be like ohhhh this is actually OK....but that was rare and most things were bad...the potatoes were liquid (supposed to be mashed but clearly powdered) and the food was never hot. Luke warm. My 3 yr old got sick the last 2 nights, vomiting. Food related...most likely. Sad that the snack bar food sustained us, with kids and the timing of the buffet opening...its all there was. Had to buy fruit from Mega grocery store as they offer no apples, bananas or any fruit to snack on during the day or to take to your room. AND NO CORONA!!! Seriously...never been anywhere in Mexico where you couldn't get a Corona...that disappointed me, small detail but hey, when I go to Mexico I like a Corona with lime. Oh and good luck getting a reservation at the restaurants, we never got one....hey maybe the food was great in there but when we called at 9:10 all that was left was 9:30pm seating....not good for kids so we never went.
So would I go back again....not likely....I think there is better out there. It wasn't bad it just seemed like we got a good deal but then felt like for all the trouble of travel and such we should have spent the extra $1000....nothing is free in Mexico so if you get a deal there is a reason....

My boyfriend and I spent one week at the Royal Solaris in early December. The front desk staff, the towel ladies, the cleaning ladies, they were all wonderful. Maricella at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time there. The food is mediocre, breakfast menu was almost always the same, lunch and dinner was okay. We rented a car and went to Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos. The night entertainment was excellent, the room was very clean. Overall, it was a good experience for us. I would definitely stay there again.

Just got back from the Royal Solaris and it compares well with the Royal de Cameron in Puerta Vallarta. Solaris is more modern but they are comparable.The staff were great and the front desk very accomodating. Keep in mind that memberships are a key aspect in this Hotel and for those who are interested in 'buying in', you can and if not just say No Gracias, firmly. The whole area itself is full of time share salespeople, once again No Gracias works well.
The entertainment is super and a good variety of it. I especially enjoyed the Mexcan dancers, that was great.
Very clean hotel, and the food was good as well, some of it was luke warm but a good variety, the waiters work hard and over all I would give it a 4 star rating. The only bad thing, the weather did not co-operate as well as it could have but the Hotel does not have control over that aspect. It was cool and windy but overall it was a good trip. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone spending time there for a week or two.
