“Rooms are old, Internet is Bad, Food is Good, Entertainment is Great for Kids and Adults”

We are members of Club Solaris, but this time we traveled through Expedia as prices for the package were so much better. At arrival we were given a room on first floor (beach level) but as soon as we entered it we saw two huge cockroaches on the floor. We were immediately moved to a different floor (fourth floor, which they actually call first floor in the elevator). After coming here 3 times in 5 years it was the worst room and the worst experience. The rooms are old, no changes in five years there too: old AC (loud and never turns off), old TVs, old beds, old furniture, safe - you get a key and have to pay $1/day (unless you are a member)... What a shame. This place desperately needs a renovation.

Internet is terrible, and it is been like that for over FIVE YEARS. It shows that management does not care.

Food is OK - never had a problem with food. It is not Zagat-rated cousine, but made of fresh ingredients and the selection and variety is good. Service in the restaurants is excellent, and so is housekeeping.

One thing I noticed this year - a lot less seafood, and charging for "premium" food in Marco Polo. Another penny-pinching tactics is to charge $3 for "premium" liquors from non-members. That's not how you make money, I think...

Timeshare presentation: we were offered one (even though we are already members) to "upgrade" our experience. I refused to pay a deposit of $40 (especially, since I never had my deposit returned two years ago), so I recommend everyone NOT TO LEAVE A DEPOSIT. Still, we went to a presentation (in return for some trips and extras). It was not hard pressure sales tactics, but I clearly did not see a value to upgrade, especially, after I explained how I did not see a good value anymore, and could get a better deal elsewhere.

If there was a one great thing about the trip it was the entertainment team. They took care of everyone in the family, kids and adults. Everyone was great, but Nadya was especially nice and helpful.

My 10-yo son was happy with the place: made friends with other kids (there are plenty), kids club with water slides, junior club with pool and arcade games, ocean was calm and great to swim, pool was clean and warm, shows and entertainment were exciting (and different from last years).

Overall, I think the value for the price was adequate (we knew exactly what to expect and what we paid for), it is likely the cheapest average all-inclusive in the area. Will we come there again? Likely in a few years, hoping for some renovations and better internet.

Room Tip: Select higher floors and closer to the ocean rooms.

We first went to Royal Solaris in Cabo thru RCI. We loved it so much we bacame members that was in 2006. This trip was our 5th visit. We Went to Royal in Cancun but like it here in Cabo so much more.
The staff at any level are much friendlier, the atmosphere is not so hecktic, and we like the way it is layed out. Which for us makes a perfect relaxing get away. I just wish they could get a little softer mattresses.
Our waiters in Marco Polo, PACO & SAUL were wonderful. If you want a awsome massage ask for SUJEI, Perfect. And RAMONE at the pool made sure we had a beverage almost before we knew we wee ready.

Room Tip: If you ask for a room closer to the ocean end, you will be able to hear the wave crashing at night b...

We are members at the Club Solaris, and have been going there for 6 years. Our member representative this year was Mario Villavicencio - just the nicest guy ever. He made sure we had all our reservations for evening events and day trips - just perfecto! Bob Chapman helped our friends who came with us and did a great job. It is a pleasure to deal with such delightful professionals - making everything run smoothly. Cap. Victor Estrada - is the restaurant manager - who helps our days start out perfectly! He is always cheerful and efficient and the food is delicious and delightful every day! You cannot have a better entertainment group - they are always delightful. The staff truly does remember you - and while I don't have all the names - I would commend the Solaris for the truly great staff they have at this resort! They have learned to do it better every year! Thanks again for a great stay!

This was our first anniversary and the first time out of the USA. Upon arrival at Royal Solaris Alex Babio greeted us and was our guest registor; he was a joy to visit with and talked with us daily! When booking the activities, Jose was our guy. He was informative and openly gave his opinion which helped us decide on what was best for us. The rooms were nice, but I don't feel like there was that AWE moment at the hotel in general. Our visit was good but not great. As I mentioned there were a few outstanding staff members which called you by name; others wouldn't even look you in the eye. We won't be returning to Cabo.

Room Tip: A/C was extremely cold, even on low setting yet with it off was too warm.

This was our first stay at the Royal Solaris in San Jose Del Cabo and will not be our last. We fell in love with this place and ended up buying a membership. The membership services staff was very friendly and courteous, especially Mario Villavicencio, who greeted us upon arrival and was were there to handle many of the arrangements for our group. (We traveled there with four other couples.) Mario arranged our reservations for the two restaurants (Mexican and Italian) and every morning for breakfast we had a table for ten set up. One member of the wait staff stood out above the others. His name was Martin. He made sure all of our requests for food and drink were fulfilled. We certainly plan to return to this lovely little paradise at least once a year and bring along more friends to enjoy this with.

I'd like to mention Carlos Escobedo, Luis Lizarraga, and Angelo as outstanding staff members at the Royal Solaris. Their smiles and greetings each day, combined with excellent service and friendly attention to our needs ( my husband is disabled) made our stay at this excellent hotel very enjoyable.

My wife and I came back to the Royal Solaris in San Jose del Cabo for the second year in a row. There are a few things that really stood that made our stay a trip that we will be doing again for a third year. More than anything the entertainment staff made us feel like we were a bunch of friends hanging out. To my amazement a few members of the entertainment team and hotel staff recognized my wife and I from our previous visit, which was exactly one year before. On arrival to the resort a very helpful bellman recognized us as we stepped out of our shuttle, which completely blew me away. Our front desk clerk was very helpful and assisted us easily in upgrading our room accommodations to a hot tub suite. After our bags were delivered to our room we wanted nothing more than to sit pool side with a cold drink and a fresh plate of chips and salsa from the pool snack bar. We had a few hours of relaxing before going to the dinner show. As we walked into the theater we were greeted by the preformers of the entertainment team. I had recognized a few members of the team again surprised Danny Boy, Gaby, and Mac greeted us and recognized us from our pervious visit. After enjoying the dinner and show Danny Boy asked us if we'd like to go with the staff to party at the RED BAR which is down the street from the resort. Danny Boy and Becca walked us down there where they stayed and hung out with all of the guests that came, Gaby met us there and we all had a great night. The next morning I went down for breakfast at the buffet where we got to see Lucy one of the on hand cooks that make you fresh omlets that you pick all your fresh ingredients. After breakfast we made our way to the pool. The entertainment staff was there every day leading fun activities from pool bingo, beer drinking contests, water aerobics and the list goes on and on. There was one other member of the wait staff that made this a great trip. A server named Mauro had always made sure that we had everything we needed at every meal anytime he saw that we were there, even if it wasn't his section. All and all it's the great service and staff that will have us coming back next year with a large group of friends because we can't stop talking about our great get away!

A very special thanks again to the entertainment team! Danny Boy, Victor, Rachel, Mac, Zoe, Jessica, Becca, Nadya, Poncho and Moto they made our vacation well wroth it!!!

Room Tip: We asked to upgrade to a jaccuzi suite with a full ocean view. Specify if you don't want a smoki...
