We just returned from 11 days at the Hola Grand Faro. We loved this resort, it is a beautiful location with great sunrise views, good food, clean etc...but what really made this experience special was the staff. The staff at this resort are incredible, they are always friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make you feel special. Originally I booked the Hola because the reviews were pretty good and the price was right. As we got closer to our departure date I started to notice some bad reviews. This made me start to reconsider my decision to stay there, to the point that I called my travel agent two weeks before our departure to see if I could change hotels. I am so happy that we did not do this. I could not have been more happy with my choice to stay at the Hola Grand Faro. The service was first class, the resort was very clean and the staff would constantly work to keep it that way, the room was nice with a king size bed and partial ocean view with a mini fridge and safe. The food was very good, we especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and the views from there during breakfast are amazing. The specialty restaurants were good but not like a five star back home so don't go there expecting that, but it was good with great service. We spent a lot of time around the infinity pool area during the day and we were always served promptly by the staff with drinks, especially Pedro who was awesome! Likewise the staff at the restaurants were nothing short of amazing, super friendly and courteous. I would especially like to mention Jairo and Jose Manuel who were incredible. We booked a couple of tours through Chris at the activities desk and found him to be very knowledgeable and friendly. Through Chris we booked the sunset dinner cruise with Caborey and we really enjoyed it. You start out with an open bar and a really great band upstairs, we danced and had a great time. They took us out to the arch and we watched the sunset and then headed down for dinner below. The dinner was fantastic, my girlfriend had the vegetarian option which she loved and the steak was great. They also offer a show after dinner, we did not have high hopes for the show but it was really really good. The other activity we booked through Chris was the ATV sunset tour with Cactus Tours. The trip was really good and our tour guide, Alberto was excellent! My girlfriend was really nervous about driving the ATV but he helped her out and she had a great time. Back to the hotel, it is really easy going, not really a party place and closer to San Jose Del Cabo which is a much more laid back then Cabo which we liked. The activities around the pool were handled by JJ and he did a good job even though it was low season and not that many people were participating, he did a great job. The beach was nice but the water is not great for swimming, you can go in but just be careful. They had vendors on the beach who would approach you to buy their goods, but if you said no they would just leave you alone. Usually when we have gone to all inclusive hotels they have been mega size, which we didn't have a problem with, but I really must say after staying at a smaller resort I think I like it better. If you wanted to go to your room it was two minutes not a major event like larger resorts. I should also mention we booked a great couples massage at the resort that was great. We had our massage outside at the front of the hotel although you could have it done inside if you prefer, the massage staff was excellent and it only cost us $90 for the both of us. The only complaint I could think of would be the $15 a day internet fee if you wanted internet. If you are looking for a resort that is clean, a great location with killer sunrise views, great food, nice rooms and most importantly the best staff I have ever experienced go to the Hola Grand Faro you will not be regret it. I would highly recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family and I plan on returning.
