“perfect vacation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

This was our first mexico trip for my husband and i. I spent seven months looking at resorts and reading reviews till i drove myself crazy trying to make a decision. We dont have alot of money and have been saving for two years for this I wonted it to be perfect. My choice was stay at five star resort for three or four days and have a no ocean view or stay at a three or four star with ocean front room and stay seven days.We picked the Hola because of prices and reviews. We were not sorry at all. We booked beach front room and was upgraded to beach front corner room. The view was the best. The room was very nice and the staff was the greatest. We had a great time and cant wait to go back.It was quiet and relaxing. We didnt wont alot of partien and lound music and this was perfect.Go and see for yourself you will love it

Room Tip: Get the beach front room it is worth it

“Great All Inclusive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

I read a lot of reviews before going and almost changed resorts because of it. We've been to A.I.'s before in Mexico. This location stacks up with the best. We were there Nov 1 - Nov 8.

Food: Best food we've had at an AI. We ate at one of the two a la carte restaurants most night (there is no limit, just make a reservation the day of). The dinner buffet location changes so make sure you don't miss it when it's at the beach location.

Rooms: Very clean. Room service was usually late afternoon (5p) but you can call for earlier if you want. We slept with patio door open unless neighborhood music was too loud. AC unit was sometimes too loud to sleep.

Bars: Alcohol was hit or miss. Apple Martini's the first night but never again. Sometimes Hornitos Tequila and Tanqueray Gin and other times generics. Pool bar opens at 11a. That's later than other resorts we've been to. Tip: Order 4 cervezas with limes the afternoon before through room service (with fries) and keep in refrigerator for your pre-pool-bar pleasure. Poolside service was great. Very helpful servers and they'll even help at the beach locations. Lobby bar is fair. Bartenders not particularly happy to be there. Sky Bar was closed due to the elevator being broken for the 3 days it was supposed to be open. However, open on a Wednesday once fixed. Sky Bar was VERY fun! Bartenders were happy to be there and having a good time. Great view. Bring your own playlist to plug into the sound system. Dancing on bars, and general mayhem. Wish we could have done it more than the one night.

Property: Great size overall. Very well kept. Beach vendors on beach only and never too pushy. One time a resort guy chased off some vendors that were unsolicited.

Information: This is my biggest complaint. There is a written schedule of events including which restaurant will be open and what activities will occur, but it is a guideline at best. I think the a la carte was wrong more often than right. Activities either didn't occur or maybe at another time so we missed them. Front desk guy gave incorrect or incomplete info almost every time we asked. On the last night there we decided to look at the Sky Bar just to say we saw it (supposed to be closed), only to find it was open and awesome! No indication anywhere that it was open until the elevator opened at the bar. We lucked out but wondered how many guests missed it.

“great time with the kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

we took our 1 and 3 year old to the hola grand faro. we had a great time. the staff was really really attentive and always had a smile for our kids. we bought some pool toys at the mega store down the block and just played in the pool and on the beach for the week. we had a suite room which was a very large king room with an attached very large "living room" which had a trundel bed couch that our son slept on and we used a crib for the baby. they had pack and plays there that worked very well. great room setup with an amazing ocean view. great pool. pretty good food - better than average for an all inclusive. breakfast was great. the coffee was awful - but there was an espresso bar in the gift shop that was included! wifi was kinda expensive. but all in all a great trip.

“Hola Grand”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

I am typically a Mexican East Coaster. Mayan Riviera, Cancun, etc... I love it there and have enjoyed those baby powder fine beaches more times than I can remember. As well, over the years, I have tested the waters (no pun intended) at most of the west coast resort towns. Of the west coast areas I have come to realize that my favorite is Cabo......

This was my third trip to Cabo and my second stay at the Hola Grand Faro.
Hola is located about 20 minutes from the airport in the more quiet of the Cabos. San Jose Del Cabo.

The resort is top-notch. My room was large, clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the comfy bed and the big flat screen tv that offered a nice selection of English channels. The shower is huge and and when used is like standing in a rain storm.... Nice...
The service is very good.
The buffet food is excellent. Even better are the two included specialty
a la carte restaurants. The bar tenders and wait staff were very attentive and quite accommodating.
The grounds were well manicured and pools were immaculate.

There is basic shopping nearby within easy walking distance. If you are up for a little more adventurous walk, head downtown. Its about 2 miles. For me it was just a bit too far in the heat, so I cabbed it. Either way it is safe and there is a lot of touristy shopping, restaurants and local color there.

I had a great trip and will do it again sometime. Next time I might try a different resort..... Maybe... But then again, why? The Hola Grand will be hard to top.

“FANTASTIC VACATION AT THE HOLA GRAND FARO”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

We just returned from 11 days at the Hola Grand Faro. We loved this resort, it is a beautiful location with great sunrise views, good food, clean etc...but what really made this experience special was the staff. The staff at this resort are incredible, they are always friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make you feel special. Originally I booked the Hola because the reviews were pretty good and the price was right. As we got closer to our departure date I started to notice some bad reviews. This made me start to reconsider my decision to stay there, to the point that I called my travel agent two weeks before our departure to see if I could change hotels. I am so happy that we did not do this. I could not have been more happy with my choice to stay at the Hola Grand Faro. The service was first class, the resort was very clean and the staff would constantly work to keep it that way, the room was nice with a king size bed and partial ocean view with a mini fridge and safe. The food was very good, we especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and the views from there during breakfast are amazing. The specialty restaurants were good but not like a five star back home so don't go there expecting that, but it was good with great service. We spent a lot of time around the infinity pool area during the day and we were always served promptly by the staff with drinks, especially Pedro who was awesome! Likewise the staff at the restaurants were nothing short of amazing, super friendly and courteous. I would especially like to mention Jairo and Jose Manuel who were incredible. We booked a couple of tours through Chris at the activities desk and found him to be very knowledgeable and friendly. Through Chris we booked the sunset dinner cruise with Caborey and we really enjoyed it. You start out with an open bar and a really great band upstairs, we danced and had a great time. They took us out to the arch and we watched the sunset and then headed down for dinner below. The dinner was fantastic, my girlfriend had the vegetarian option which she loved and the steak was great. They also offer a show after dinner, we did not have high hopes for the show but it was really really good. The other activity we booked through Chris was the ATV sunset tour with Cactus Tours. The trip was really good and our tour guide, Alberto was excellent! My girlfriend was really nervous about driving the ATV but he helped her out and she had a great time. Back to the hotel, it is really easy going, not really a party place and closer to San Jose Del Cabo which is a much more laid back then Cabo which we liked. The activities around the pool were handled by JJ and he did a good job even though it was low season and not that many people were participating, he did a great job. The beach was nice but the water is not great for swimming, you can go in but just be careful. They had vendors on the beach who would approach you to buy their goods, but if you said no they would just leave you alone. Usually when we have gone to all inclusive hotels they have been mega size, which we didn't have a problem with, but I really must say after staying at a smaller resort I think I like it better. If you wanted to go to your room it was two minutes not a major event like larger resorts. I should also mention we booked a great couples massage at the resort that was great. We had our massage outside at the front of the hotel although you could have it done inside if you prefer, the massage staff was excellent and it only cost us $90 for the both of us. The only complaint I could think of would be the $15 a day internet fee if you wanted internet. If you are looking for a resort that is clean, a great location with killer sunrise views, great food, nice rooms and most importantly the best staff I have ever experienced go to the Hola Grand Faro you will not be regret it. I would highly recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family and I plan on returning.
