The good news about this property is that the staff is uniformly caring, gracious, and extending of themselves. The hotel is on a nice spot in between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose. We did not care much for the Key West quality of Cabo San Lucas but found San Jose charming. A car is essential
This is good value for what you pay assuming you are not gouged during a high season vacation week when the rooms are clearly pricier.
We booked two rooms the week leading up to Christmas Day and they were nice though the rooms close to the restaurant are a bit noisy.
We had two connecting rooms and then switched since one room was handicapped equipped which unfortunately meant a shower with a drain that did not function and which resulted in water spilling out on the marble floor....one infinity pool is enough and it is outside of the sleeping quarters.
They do not disclose the 10% additional service charge over and above taxes . When I asked what this was for, was told maintenance and telephone operators etc. The 15% tax and additional 10% service charge adds 25% to your bill.
The pools are nice and when busy, people do go out early and reerve a chair though we never had difficulty getting a spot. The staff are extremely well meaning and try to do whatever possiblt to make the stay special. It is NOT a Four Seasons or Ritz but you are not paying for that type of property. The next bump up in hotel type is a considerable jump in price.
The property works but there are kinks which get bothersome after a few days. The tennis courts are not well maintained though they have a pro whose time you can rent and he is very gracious. Unfortunately, the hotel does not provide water at the courts and this is ridiculous given the weather.
The timeshare lecture is probably worth the 75 minutes as it gets various coupons towards activties in the area though they do not tell you that you need to commit to the activities at the precise time you take the tour so it requires planning. They serve a nice breakfast as part of the time share shpiel
Rooms were comfortable and the housekeeping always attentive .
The breakfast buffet is a feast and well stocked across the board.
The $10 charge to use the "gym" is ridiculous and annoying as they have inadequate amounts of equipment.
The main problem with the property is the HORRIBLE service at poolside at restaurants. Mr Adame tries to run a tight ship but our orders were always wrong and late and the food was not inexpensive. At $10 for a burger , $7.50 for a large bottle of water or $3.50 for a small one , they need to do better. They apologized profusely but this got stale and we resented the day in day out delays and wrong orders. A pathetic performance for this property in this area of the hotel service
Concierge ( Pablo and Karina) are enormously helpful and are an enormous resource.
Pools are nice but the 10:30 AM aerobics in the "quiet pool" with music blasting is distracting if you are trying to read and relax.
This is a nice place and I would return. The people are polite, courteous, and are genuinely interested in making the stay a pleasant one. But, the lack of oversite of the service aspects of the hotel make it less than a signature property.
