“beautiful property, nice but expensive food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2011

After debating where to stay in Cabo, my husband and I were very happy that we chose the Hilton. It's a beautiful property with great public spaces - pools, restaurants, bars, beachfront. The infinity pool is gorgeous and lots of loungers and umbrellas. Perfect if you want to just chill and relax. Good central location along the hotel corridor with a bus stop right outside.

The rooms are nice - separate shower and large tub. Comfy beds. Balcony/patio space. Cable TV. Complementary water. Mini bar refrigerator - great for storing a few snacks or drinks if you buy it from a local grocery store like Mega.

We did a few trips into San Jose and Cabo using the buses. Stops are just outside the main entrance and only costs 18-19 pesos (< $2) one way per person. You can pay with USD if you don't have pesos on hand, but have dollar bills available. We liked the fact that we could take the bus either way (10-15 min ride) and get into the city to try some local restaurants (Los Claro's in Cabo and Guacamaya's in San Jose).

Concierge arranged for tennis courts reservations and deep sea fishing with a local provider. We had an excellent time deep sea fishing and wouldn't have selected this provider (Pepe's) without the concierge. The tennis courts are artificial with sand, but nice. We didn't use the athletic center but it was large and well airconditioned. You can rent a car there for about $40 USD for a compact car if you need it.

The food at the resort is good, but pricey like other people have mentioned. If money isn't a concern for you, then it's a great place with a nice range of high quality food - japanese, american, mexican, and italian. Contintental breakfast buffet is $25 per person - hot breakfast buffet is $30. It's a nice spread with great service and live music, but ouch...we didn't do this everyday. We ended up getting a box of cheerios, milk, and some yogurts to save $$$. The food is very good despite the price. Lunch at the poolside bars is great. We did get food at the lobby bar - food is a great deal there and the drinks are great. The lobby bar is a great place to watch a sports game. We did eat one night at the Italian restaurant - the quality is good - pasta is a little greasy/overcooked, but flavors are good. Room service is a treat - they bring the table to you and set it up for you to enjoy - I'd recommend doing room service on your patio or balcony.

The service is great. People are friendly, courteous and helpful. Maid service was great - morning reset and nice turndown service in the evening. I needed a few bandages after getting cut during a snorkeling trip and they graciously provided some. You can exchange USD for Pesos at the front desk for a good rate better than at the airports - but you're limited to $100 USD per day. But the good thing is that USD is widely accepted at the hotel and in the neighboring towns.

We didn't use the spa facilities, but they were offering free 5 minute massages poolside each day. The pool concierge has an amazon kindle that you can borrow and the towel desk has pool floaties and paperback books if you need them.

There are business conventions and weddings - but we weren't bothered by it at all. I thought that it was cute to see the couples and see the wedding parties have fun.

Room Tip: Get a room above second floor for best view.

Thank you for providing such a thorough review of your time at Hilton Los Cabos. We appreciate all of your feedback. I’m happy to hear that you got so much out of your time in Cabo – dining in town, deep sea fishing, tennis and of course relaxation by the pool. One of the great things about Los Cabos is the versatility. You can have so many different vacations here. Thank you for your high estimation of our food quality. We’re proud to offer such a wide variety of options to fit any taste or budget. Thank you again for your review.

a bit away from town, but no need to go to town. Super place although a bit pricey. It is worth it if you want a special place. Breakfast buffet was really cool. Every room has a view so you don't need a special room. Pools are fun and lots of sun. I'd even go during a hurricane, the building is state of the art.

Thank you for reviewing the Hilton Los Cabos. Going to town is a lot of fun, but you’re absolutely right that most of our guests find their ideal vacation right here, never having to leave the resort at all. Thanks again.

I’ve never stayed at a nicer hotel at this price point. We got married here and brought about 60 guests. Many of our guests told us it was the nicest place they have ever stayed.

The hotel is beautiful. Even if it wasn’t on a spectacular beach, it would still be beautiful.

You can actually get into the ocean here. That’s not the case for most hotels in Cabo. The water was cool but not unbearable.

Service by the pool and at the beach was fantastic. It was fast, accurate, and friendly. True, the beer isn’t cheap at the Hilton, but at least you never have to wait long for it.

We did not eat dinner in the restaurants, but the catered food we had for the wedding was really good. The breakfast buffet was pricey but worth a try. The swim-up sushi bar was great.

For those considering a wedding in Cabo, be sure to check out the Hilton. The staff at the hotel (including our amazing wedding coordinator Gabriela) far exceeded our expectations for every event we planned during the weekend. They really impressed us and our guests. It’s the perfect spot for a destination wedding.

Thank you for choosing the Hilton Los Cabos for your wedding and also for sharing your experience. Of course, there’s no bigger VIP than a bride-to-be, but here at Hilton Los Cabos we go above and beyond to ensure every wedding attendee has his or her own unforgettable experience. I’m happy to hear that we impressed both you and your guests. Gaby, our wedding coordinator, will love to see your review. Thank you for making Hilton Los Cabos your ideal for a destination wedding.

We took our daughter here for a college graduation gift. Our room was absolutely gorgeous and we had a great view of the ocean. The Hilton property was very well maintained. The staff that worked at the hotel were incredible. The service we received was outstanding. I could ramble on and on about the fantastic time we all had but Kudos to Hilton, Los Cabos. We can't wait to go back.

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and it could not have been better. As soon as you arrive, you are catered to. They knew it was our honeymoon, so on the first night we discovered a bed covered in flower petals, chocolate covered strawberries, and a bottle of champagne, all without request. The service is the best I've ever experienced. Everyone enjoys what they do, they don't just consider it a job. The pool is beautiful and it was always possible to find seats. The attention to detail was awesome, the food was great, and the grounds are spectacular. We will be back as many times as possible. I don't see why you would spend the big bucks on other resorts when this wonderful place is available.

Just return from my first trip to Cabos. Spent first couple of days in the hotel and didn't bother to leave as why would you want to leave the beach, pool and great service. I won't repeat what other's comment about this hotel as it's all true but wanted to add good and watch out comments.

Good - Food and service is excellent. Got my bucket of ice with beer on the beach and free Yoga class on the beach & paid message by the pool was a nice touch. I miss the sound of the waves from the room and in the pool.

Watch out - Wedding warning. I didn't want to say anything to management during our stay as this is special time for the couple but I didn't like the fact that I had to endure music til 10:30pm nor step around parties in the evening. I was lucky that I wasn't near the area of the party, watch out for room # that ends with XX6X or XX7X as you are on right side of the hotel near the pool where the party is blasting away.

This is fine line, Hilton has to manage between regular and special guest.

Thank you for your comments and your feedback. It doesn’t get much better than a bucket of cold beer on the beach down by the beautiful Sea of Cortes. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the food and service and that you had a chance to enjoy a poolside massage. If you still find yourself missing the sound of the surf, the only option is to come back and see us again. Thanks for your review.

We have just finished a wonderful 8 night stay at the Hilon Cabo. Being regular travellers and lucky enough to enjoy the finer things in life, we had high expectations of the Hilton and it delivered in spades and exceeded our expectations in many areas. It occupies one of the best locations along the corridor between San Jose del Cabo and Los Cabos so is a great location and has one of the only swimmable areas of beach front along the corridor so you are truly spoilt. The food is one area that blew us away from a quality perspective. We have stayed at a couple if Hiton Resorts in the past and have often been let down by mediocre food but every one of the 4 restaurants on site delivered fresh, tasty and truly first class cuisine at relatively reasonable prices for a resort of this class (the wine was a bit overpriced for my liking but that is the only issue I had). The staff were consistently friendly and attentive and the rooms were a good size with a great view (we had a deluxe sea view - 3018). We will definitely stay at the Hilton again when we go back to Baja. (we also recommend the horse riding on the beach with George Collins - galloping Mexican ponies across the sand and through the dessert is one of our favourite memories).

Thank you for this wonderful review. It is our goal to exceed the expectations of even the most experienced traveler, so I’m delighted to hear that we did just that. I’m also happy you were able to experience so many of our eateries during your stay. Food service is very important to us. Across our six dining options we offer an incredible variety of choices while maintaining our commitment to quality. It’s an undertaking, but it’s worth it to hear reviews like yours. Thanks again.
