Description: ( Closed Mondays) Floras Field kitchen is about handmade food using our farm fresh ingredients. Our goal is to create a healthy family meal with a sense of place. Our day begins at four in the morning when Jose the baker arrives to fire the wood oven. Working with sourdough cultures and pre ferments he makes loaves of Pain L'ancienne baguette, ciabatta, sourdough, focaccia, whole wheat and herb breads. Chefs, cooks, stewards, the butcher and farm hands begin arriving after first light. Throughout the morning produce comes in to be washed and prepped while the line gets fired up to prepare the first meals- through dinner there is harvesting going hand in hand with cooking. All meats served at Floras Field Kitchen come from our nearby 150-acre ranch where animals are humanely raised on diets that do not include hormones or antibiotics. In the evening, and for Sunday brunches, the wood-burning oven becomes Mamas pizzeria. We make Neapolitan style pizza with fresh mozzarella and dough that is built over time and handled lightly.

“Farm-fresh lunch off the beaten path”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013 via mobile

What's not to love about Flora's? Fresh bread, creamy butter, crisp greens and flavorful chicken made this stop the best lunch of our Cabo vacation. It's beautiful garden setting is surprising as it is off a dusty, rutted road but it was not to hard to find. The only reason it didn't get 5-stars was that it was more expensive than I anticipated, but that would not prevent me from returning.

“Famous foodie spot”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

We had a group of 9 who went to Flora's for the brunch. The location is all that we expected, an exceptional organic farm set in an out of the way location. While we also had high expectations we found it to be a mixed experience - the brunch is served family style and while they will bring out additional platters, the speed at which this happens can be variable. The food was all very good: eggs, roasted potatoes, pancakes, ham and sausage, however we did not feel that the $35 per head price tag was a value. There was also and additional tip of close to 30% added to the check (this seemed a little high for being served family style) and with the IVA the cost was considerably more than what we had imagined (there were no prices on the website). The drinks, while also very good, were priced at around 140 pesos. We always try to support organic and local, however it seemed that they were pricing based on reputation rather than value received. I found it interesting that when one of our party asked about getting a cup of coffee, they were directed to the large coffee urns at the middle of the restaurant to get their own, that seemed odd for an upscale operation. BTW I am not a disgruntled competitor but a frequent trip advisor user providing input for other users.

“A delicious oasis in the desert”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

Our first trip to Flora Field Kitchen was on Wednesday and we were back again on Saturday - it was that good! You do need a car to get here, but, oh, it is so worth it. The atmosphere is so relaxing - totally away from the loud music of most restaurants in Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo - there is soft, relaxing music. The food is delicious, the freshly baked ciabatta, olive, and wheat bread from the ovens at the entry, the salads just picked from the garden you are sitting next to, the chicken raised on this property (though you can't see that from the restaurant). The bar serves interesting twists on cocktails as well as the usual. And you can purchase the eggs, bacon, ham, vegetables, bread and jam to take pack to your condo or whatever. The exchange rate they give you is very fair (unlike many other places). The food is so delicious - go, you'll love it! We can't wait to return on our next visit.

“We still dream about this place...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013 via mobile

It's been 8 months since our visit and we keep talking about it. Living in NYC we have had some great meals which always gets critiqued against Flora as the standard. Nothing is quite like Flora and we may have to go back to Cabo just for it.

“OMG”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

The first time I got directions to go to Flora Field Kitchen I thought, "what in the heck am I doing on a deserted dirt road in the middle of nowhere, Mexico"? Then the final turn and OMG the best thing since sliced bread (and they make it fresh here). Organic eggs, vegetables and fruits, all from food from the farm. Sausage and chicken also made from the farm. Oven fired pizza on Sunday brunch menu and only in evenings during the week. Wine poured out of a carafe that is chilling in a bucket. Mostly outdoor seating with views of the farm everywhere. Did I mention the rescue dogs that are on property??? Gloria is an animal lover and only one dog "mama" is allowed in the restaurant area but every once in a while I can entice another one to come over so I can love on them. Fairytale place. Must go.
