I am shocked to see people reviewing this awesome hotel so unfavorably. We just arrived home from a 4 day get away there, and we never left the hotel once. We travel all over the world, we've stayed in the finest hotels in the world and have traveled the Orient Express - so we are familiar with good from bad. This one is as charming as they come. Is there a highway above the hotel? Sure. Do trucks use it? Yes. But if you leave your doors open to hear the surf while you sleep, I am confused why the trucks would bother you. Jesus and Hector were attentive and wonderful FOH staff. The key here is to realize THAT YOU ARE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY!! Make a little effort with the language - and the staff will work for you. Be an ugly American, and get no where. That's a simple rule of travel....The beach was lovely - although there are tons of sea urchins, so either bring water shoes or pick some up from the rental desk. The water is so crystal clear, the waves are great. The restaurant is really really wonderful - I can be picky and I was never disappointed. We ate every meal there as we just wanted to disconnect and not leave the hotel. The spa was okay - I wasn't pleased with my massage, but it was still relaxing. My husband and I had a great time, and we can't wait to go back. It's not the Four Seasons - it's a small relaxing boutique beach hotel. If you want a high end mega resort with insulated walls - try the Palmilla; if you want a small, boutique enclave with a great break - try Cabo Surf Hotel.
