Heaven on Earth....from the airport pick up in a Hummer,arrival greeting etc. website does not do this gorgeous resort any justice. Must be experienced, glorious rooms,restaurants amazing and bars very relaxing and make great cocktails. No request was too much trouble, staff friendly and always smiling. Pool side experience Amazing,with complimentary foot massage,sunglasses cleaned,oxygen shots sprayed which was cool and refreshing,ice cream, and not forgetting the lovely infinity pool and swim up bar. Kids had their own pool area and were never seen at adults pool area. Butler service for each room was simply a wonderful treat. Golf at Palmilla Golf course was a golfers dream,played both the Arroyou course and Ocean twice.We were there for six nites and experienced all that the resort had to offer and only have very high praise for the staff and management of this gorgeous resort. We will definitely return to continue our dream............

My husband and I went for a 3 day getaway - lovely grounds, thoughtful service, delicious food. Two highlights, the ocean front tables at Agua were amazing - private, romantic - we liked it so much we went two nights in a row. And the spa - I've been to several 5-star spas and this spa is amazing. The service, ambiance and of course the treatment. It was truly tailored to me, and I really felt pampered. Even at 5-stars you usually can see some 'eye glazing over' from tired and jaded employees, but this place was truly warm and welcoming.

Small issues. The beach was being worked on, and no one had mentioned it. We are beach people, not pool people, and the beach was a main reason we wanted to stay here. We still sat there, but it was a construction site basically, and the drills, saws and varnish dust were not relaxing:) I know they need make upgrades, but we would have loved a heads-up and would have made our trip another time. When we checked in, they also told us they had snorkel equipment at the beach, but when we went down there, the attendant said, "oh, no, its all broken."

And out in the water at about 5 feet deep there was a semi-submerged blue painted oil barrel - I'm sure it didn't have actual oil in it, it was just an odd note for a lovely resort. In general the pools were much better maintained and luxurious than the beach (pillows for your feet and head on your chairs at the pool but not beach etc)

I would still go there again in a heartbeat and 100% plan to return, but will ask a few questions first.

Stunning, Stunning, Stunning! This is absolutely the most beautiful, amazing resort my husband and I have ever been to! The ambiance of 2000 candles glowing every evening will take your breathe away. The entire staff is extremely professional. Starting with the management, director of celebrations, butlers and pool attendants. The rooms are so very elegant. Every aspect of this resort is magnificent! The restaurants are excellent, as is the service. The chefs are some of the finest we have ever experienced! I was celebrating my 60th birthday during our stay and everyone at the One & Only made it an unforgettable day! We have already booked another trip in April for our anniversary. We have made friends for life! There is no resort that can begin to compare to the One & Only! We thank the entire staff for such a heartfelt wonderful vacation. If you are looking for a resort that the pampers every need then this is the spot. Often it appears that there is more staff than guests. The resort has an adult pool which usually turns into quite the party by sun down and a family pool that is a peaceful oasis. Due to the price of the hotel, few children visit and when they do they are well behaved. If you are looking to let loose Cabo is 25 minutes away. If you want a taste of Mexico, San Jose is 12 minutes away and has developed some fine restaurants at real world prices. At the resort there is a superb golf course and beautiful beaches. The only draw back is that the only dining options at the resort are high priced and of the highest quality ($21 for a Spicy Tuna Roll doesn't even happen at Matsuhisa).
In short, I plan on going back every year! It is the perfect place for a much needed break with someone you love!
