We tried this restaurant last year when we were here and thought it was the best in town for Mexican food. We have returned this year to find that it is still great.
Their specialty is the mocajete which is a meal cooked and served in a stone lava bowl. I had the shrimp and beef bowl and it was perfectly cooked, tender, and had lots of cactus and onion.
My wife had the coconut shrimp. It was cooked perfectly, not tough or rubbery.
I also enjoyed the tortilla soup which has a chicken base and is very light and flavorful.
Drinks were good but seemed a little weak.
The service was friendly and fast because it was mid afternoon.
The atmosphere was great. A palapa with open sides to view the street.
