“Great for fishing or a non-tourist experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

We stayed here 2 nights and fished on a panga from the marina. I will admit first impression was kind of meh. Boyfriend who is typically okay with anything seemed to be considering looking for something else when we first arrived. Room appeared rough at first glance but a/c worked great, an absolute necessity in Cabo in June. Shower water pressure was just incredible. Beds were comfortable and room was plenty big and reasonably clean. If you can look past the the datedness and keep your expectations realistic you will not regret staying here. The restaurant on-site and pool area is a great place to hang out in the afternoon if you want to tell or be told a good fish tail. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would absolutely not think twice about returning. There is a swimming beach across the street that is quite and doesn't have the folks trying to sell you something every 5 seconds. Its also across the street from the marina. Puerto los cabos is definitely not to be missed. Its such a relaxed environment. We ate a little at the on-site restaurant. I've read mixed reviews and also heard mixed reviews while there. It seems to be hit or miss however we had no problem. The best I can figure out is the breakfest/lunch crew is the hit part and the dinner crew is the miss part but there are other options within a short walk so its not a huge deal. The local bus runs through the area was well for a good transportation option for $1. We talked to many people who return to this hotel every year. Go ahead and book this one and have a great time living the village life!

Room Tip: Room 210 was great.

La Marina Inn is right on La Playita one of the local spots for shore fishing and for Pangas in the the Cabo del San Jose Area. We didn't stay here but the prices looked really reasonable. We stopped in here for breakfast and the staff was really friendly and the food was decent.

The owner George is a nice gentlemen who was nice enough to give us a ride into town (cabs have to be called if you aren't leaving at a time when the boats are going out or coming in.

La Marina is small, but set in a fun and safe environment. The food was wonderful and great people we met even better. A hotel built right across the street but the owner doesn't care because he said he's protected from hurricanes. The beach is a quick walk where you can safely swim. We'll be back.

Room Tip: Its small and every room is just fine. They do have a couple nice penthouse suites. No elevator th...

We stayed at the inn for a total of 4 weeks this December thru January 15 2014 and we had a great time. The Manager and Staff are very helpful pleasant and friendly. Especially Kelly who is a great front desk person. We think that this hotel could be even better with a few improvements, even though El Ganzo has blocked most of the beach view in front its a way better place to stay. The Restaurant in the courtyard serves great food and the music from several bands provides good ambiance.
We think the overall maintenance could do with a full time maintenance guy and some training for the housekeeping staff to keep those corners and behind beds a little cleaner. The owners don't operate the business and live elsewhere.

Room Tip: The kitchenettes are on the third floor and provide great views of the beach, but its a good climb.

We were checking out the marina and we decided to stop for a drink. What a great surprise! We sat down, ordered and proceeded to meet people enjoying there time in this great place. Bob, a friend of owner George told us "you have to meet this guy". He was so right. George is a great guy, when he told you the stories and history of his place he made you feel like you should stay or come back. When we mentioned getting a cab back to town George said he would drive us. Then a friend of George's came in, Freddie. He said he would take us. We were overwhelmed by the kindness and feeling we got of being like we had been there many times before. A great big thanks to George, Freddie, Bob, Mary and Gunner. With meeting you guys we will be returning.

No elevators. Balcony view is good, but there is a newer hotel partially blocking the water view. Very close to the beach & marina. Nice place with a restaurant & bar, music. Very casual, friendly people running the hotel.
