Perfect little Inn. Adorable, clean and great service. Relax by the pool, enjoy the little spa, or walk the town from this hotel. The hotel is in 2 different buildings, one across the street from the first building....by across the street I mean 20 steps. I saw the standard rooms and they looked very standard but very clean, with 2 beds and a bathroom. We stayed in the second building in a little suite. VERY cute and roomy. We bought everything we needed and filled our fridge, they have all you need in the room to make your meals, hot or cold. They even had free bottled water in each room. The pool side rooms are very nice, cute, cozy and romantic I thought. The Honeymoon suite looked very original and nice. Each room is well priced. I loved the little outside area by the pool, beats the crowds in the busy resorts which I'm done with. There was a little chapel in this area which sent vibes of romance and history, nothing fancy but very charming. The location is great and you can walk anywhere, for anything, with in blocks. Morgan's is just at the end of the block and is a must eat at while you're there. There is a computer for the internet at the front desk area, easy to use. The front desk will help you with any tour spots you might like to see, or suggest where to eat and so on. There is parking steps away, free too if I recall. At night it was charming with lit candles and flowers. Clean, cozy, relaxing. If you're looking for a frilly resort this is not your place, if you're looking for something charming and relaxing, this is it! I've been to this area over 5 times in the past year, in all types of hotels and resorts. This Inn is real Mexico, this town is memorable.

This is a great hotel for traveling days. We stayed one night, the night we flew in and one night, the night before we flew out. About 15 minutes to the airport. We brought the airport shuttle over and a cab back. The first night we stayed in the least expensive room. Very nice, but across the street from the main hotel and bars. Gated at night but you had to walk across the street to the pool and it was very noisy at night with the bars below. Second night we stayed in a pool suite. Much larger, beautiful, walked right out to the pool. Much better choice! The hotel had great little pool which was very clean and the water was as warm as bath water, yet refreshing. Immaculate grounds! Beautifully landscaped. You could walk to any restaurants and the center of town with lots of shopping. No beach!

we had our wedding at the chapel and it was so beautiful. blanca (the owner) was great with helping us plan everything. the ownly downside was that they don't have a bridal suite and i had to book a $99 room to use for 3 hours. the room was clean and very authentic mexican. i would stay there in the future.

We recently went to this small hotel based on the other reviews on this site. We would have to add all sorts of positive messages about it. It is a charming place with lovely rooms, lots of space, nice furniture and so on. The location is excellent for people who want "Mexico" and not the nasty, westernised coastal resorts. Access to all local facilities is on foot, so it's a good location, peaceful and so on. The staff are friendly although sometimes not about (no help with bags etc) and, as mentioned by some, the billing is quirky. They charged more for our deposit than they should have but the final bill was correct. It's only a small complaint and we would go back at the drop of a hat.

My husband and I had a nice stay at El Encanto. The staff was polite from the moment we walked in. The grounds were lovely and our room (Luna Azul) was spacious and clean. The room included a coffee maker, tv with some english channels, lots and lots of storage space, robes, and a hair dryer (no iron so plan ahead). As others have mentioned, the restroom wall does not reach the ceiling, so you can't have absolute privacy in there. No big deal to a couple who has been married 5 years, but others may find it uncomfortable. The pool was heated and there was ample seating and umbrella coverage. We both had good massages at their small spa.

While I was pleased with the hotel especially considering how economical it is, I was most pleased by its location. It is on a charming and safe street, and you are within walking distance of everything in town. There is free parking across from the hotel if you rent a car, which I highly suggest.

The only thing that I found frustrating was that there wasn't a bar of any sort on site. It would have been nice to be able to order drinks while by the pool instead of having to go upstairs to our room everytime we wanted something. Anyway, a small price to pay for such a bargain in the lovely San Jose del Cabo.

  • Liked — location, size of room, staff
  • Disliked — no bar or cafe
