“Beautiful Los Cabos! Off to rough start, cold showers but...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

My sister and I spent a week at the Holiday Inn, a gift from our children. The first day was disappointing for several reasons: Our room, in block 7, seemed miles from anywhere; in the evening moths of every size swarmed the balcony, attracted by the bright lamp mounted on the outer wall; the web-site stated, "We love Canadian money!" but we found that was not true. The next day, prepared to leave, we requested another room. Fortunately, this was when we met Enrique who ensured the remainder of our stay was all we hoped it would be. We were moved to block 5 where the balcony was so much better...great view, no moths...and he explained how Canadian coins aren't accepted by banks/shops, making American dollar bills still the preference for tips.
We were so happy with our room that we put up with no hot water and the lighting issues; the maid service was wonderful, all those little touches we never see in our hotels. Bathrooms throughout the resort were clean and the counters were adorned with simple yet surprisingly beautiful displays.
The staff were friendly and easy-going; breakfast & lunch were good, dinner usually not. We referred to the events guide but always seemed to miss evening events, somehow...we only caught the fireworks because we heard the noise. But we came for the sun and the beach and San Jose, all of which we loved. Beware shoppers, though! Silver is most likely plated and peso calculations vary from shop to shop!
bottom line: Great location, service and staff.

Room Tip: Block 5 was a great location

We just came back from a wonderful week at this resort. We had an ocean view lanai room in building 7 and it was fantastic. We watched the sun rise and the sunset every day .We loved the low key vibe and the positive nature of the staff. We enjoyed the bike ride with Kevan- a tip- he takes the guests on Saturday to the Organic market in San Jose. We walked into town via the estuary, released baby turtles into the ocean, walked to the new marina and had a drink at the Container restaurant, took the bus into Cabo St. Lucas and took a glass bottom boat to the arch and walked to the Mega. We went into town for dinner twice- eating a the Maison del Angel, and Salsita's-both were very good. Food at the resort- Breakfast- very good, lunch -good,snacks-good-remember you can always get frest guacamole and salsa and fish tacos, dinner welllll...not so good.I'm not sure why it fell apart at dinner- the satff were good and the atmosphere good too but strange and limited food choices. The drinks were generally quite good- no top shelf liquors for after dinner but hey get a bottle for your room at the Mega. Overall the value this resort gives is probably unbeatable. Activity staff were hard working and security was always on the beach-you won't get time-share hassled here.

This was my second trip to Cabo but, my first stay in San Jose. I travelled with two other girl friends celebrating our birthdays. The experience was wonderful. The staff were unbelievable, especially Rocio in activities, Salvadore at the restaurant and Cruz in the lobby lounge! These people truly love their jobs and take joy in making others happy. The accommodations were clean and inviting. The food was appetizing, delicious and the presentation was outstanding. It was the slow season while we were there and staff were busy at work making the resort even better than it already is however, they made our stay most pleasant. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Stayed for a week the first week of November 2012. It is a super clean wonderful atmosphere. It appeared to be very safe. The lack of nightlife was very apparent, as well as the general displeasure amongst the guests regarding the food. I realize it is the beginning of the season, and there was only one restaurant open per meal; however the selection was very limited, and very odd choices. The resort is an easy walk/ inexpensive taxi ride away from really great food though. I came with fairly low expectations about the food and was still surprised. Aside from that, the staff was all very friendly, The pools were great; and drinks were lovely. It was a wonderful week spent in the area.

We had a good time at the resort. The resort is clean and i would class it as a 3.5 plus. the food was good, the service was good the facility was good. defenitely a good "bang for your buck" place. I recomend Luis and Jaime as bartenders they are good guys and are entertaining. The beach is massive and we felt like we owned this beach as November is quiet. This resort borders a nature reserve and another resort. It is in San Jose Del Cabo wich we found to be quiet and more traditional. Were as Cabo San Lucas only 40kms west was more of the night life busy part of Cabo. All in all was a good (short) trip.

Room Tip: My wife and I only were there 4 days and we asked for the rooms on the main floor with the hammocks...

Wow, what a wonderful week starting Oct 28! This resort is clean and comfortable, with staff who assist to all your needs. The food and beverage services were beyond the four star rating. Our beach front was clean with comfortable furniture to tan on and watch the sunsets from. Look at the website's pictures, as these truly represent this Holiday Inn. Please say hola to Cruz, Alma (tending bar) and Rocita, Kevin (activity staff) as they made our vacation special . Richard Vernon, BC

We booked at the Holiday Inn Los Cabos on a whim, and to be honest, I didn't have very high expectations. We were very pleasantly surprised by the value, the quality of the resort, the food and the amazing staff. Alma at the Tranquility Pool Bar and Cruz and Paulina at the others bars, not to mention Salvadore and Oscar at the restaurants, all were wonderful. In fact, we didn't experience any staff member who wasn't friendly, helpful and a pleasure to meet. We also met many people who return to this resort year after year and that really says something about the staff and the value you receive here. As others have mentioned, this is the slow season, so only one restaurant and the Snack Bar were open, but we found the food to be quite good, especially the breakfasts. The posole was the best I've ever had. We loved the Turtle Camp and were lucky enough to be there to release hundreds of turtles into the ocean. We will definitely return to this resort, it's a winner!
