“Great service, not so great food- a great all inclusive if you can get a super cheap rate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

Stayed for a week the first week of November 2012. It is a super clean wonderful atmosphere. It appeared to be very safe. The lack of nightlife was very apparent, as well as the general displeasure amongst the guests regarding the food. I realize it is the beginning of the season, and there was only one restaurant open per meal; however the selection was very limited, and very odd choices. The resort is an easy walk/ inexpensive taxi ride away from really great food though. I came with fairly low expectations about the food and was still surprised. Aside from that, the staff was all very friendly, The pools were great; and drinks were lovely. It was a wonderful week spent in the area.

We had a good time at the resort. The resort is clean and i would class it as a 3.5 plus. the food was good, the service was good the facility was good. defenitely a good "bang for your buck" place. I recomend Luis and Jaime as bartenders they are good guys and are entertaining. The beach is massive and we felt like we owned this beach as November is quiet. This resort borders a nature reserve and another resort. It is in San Jose Del Cabo wich we found to be quiet and more traditional. Were as Cabo San Lucas only 40kms west was more of the night life busy part of Cabo. All in all was a good (short) trip.

Room Tip: My wife and I only were there 4 days and we asked for the rooms on the main floor with the hammocks...

Wow, what a wonderful week starting Oct 28! This resort is clean and comfortable, with staff who assist to all your needs. The food and beverage services were beyond the four star rating. Our beach front was clean with comfortable furniture to tan on and watch the sunsets from. Look at the website's pictures, as these truly represent this Holiday Inn. Please say hola to Cruz, Alma (tending bar) and Rocita, Kevin (activity staff) as they made our vacation special . Richard Vernon, BC

We booked at the Holiday Inn Los Cabos on a whim, and to be honest, I didn't have very high expectations. We were very pleasantly surprised by the value, the quality of the resort, the food and the amazing staff. Alma at the Tranquility Pool Bar and Cruz and Paulina at the others bars, not to mention Salvadore and Oscar at the restaurants, all were wonderful. In fact, we didn't experience any staff member who wasn't friendly, helpful and a pleasure to meet. We also met many people who return to this resort year after year and that really says something about the staff and the value you receive here. As others have mentioned, this is the slow season, so only one restaurant and the Snack Bar were open, but we found the food to be quite good, especially the breakfasts. The posole was the best I've ever had. We loved the Turtle Camp and were lucky enough to be there to release hundreds of turtles into the ocean. We will definitely return to this resort, it's a winner!

We stayed for one night at the end of our longer trip. My college aged son and his friend thought they'd died and gone to heaven with all the legal alcohol and food they could ingest! During low season there is only one restaurant open in the evening and it was a "tropical buffet". Pretty basic food, but for the price we paid ($148/night for two) it seems hard to complain. I know I couldn't eat from that buffet day in and day out on a longer trip, but apparently they vary the restaurant each night. The setting is lovely, pools clean and amply, beach beautiful and suited for long walks and dips (if not swimming-due to waves). Free internet and nice hospitality.

Arrived Oct. 16th staying till the 26th. This is our 4th time here, found out Sept. & Oct. are their slowest months, it's almost deserted! Only 1 restaurant open plus the snack bar, but that's ok wonderful food. We are very happy they've kept the same staff who are wonderful, such as Alma, Elna, Cruz at the bars, Oscar, Salvador & wonderful Carmen, Paulina & the chefs in the restaurant, and can't go without saying Raul at the front desk, this guy works hard to please! We arrived in a storm with the grounds flooded in many areas, limbs down, pools need wind blown items removed, but woke up to the beautiful grounds we're use to & all signs of the storm gone! We love it here, quiet & very relaxing, already thinking of our next trip back! Thanks Holiday Inn for not changing this resort & it's staff!

There are a lot of good things about the Holiday Inn, which I still think of as 'El Presidente'. The top of the list is the great staff. From Raul and his staff at check-in to Anna, the great singer at evening entertainment; all the staff is the best. At the time we were there in October 2011, Patricia, the manager, was doing a very good job at handling the transition from Presidente to Holiday Inn.

We particularly remember the good service and genuine warmth from Oscar, Salvador, Pedro, Roberto, Moses, Jaime, Venessa, Liney, Guadalupe, Cruz, Rabilio and a second Oscar; all serving with a smile at the various restaurants at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

And who could forget Alma who runs the bar at the adult swimming pool. She is friendly, warm and possess a great sense of humor, as well as excellent knowledge of the area. When we were there, she celebrated her 30th year at the hotel. And today, by chance, she is celebrating her 31st. Congratulations Alma! Her story is a true success story.

The hotel is in a good location. If you walk even leisurely, it is a safe 20 minute walk to the charming small town of San Jose Del Cabo, full of interesting shops, art galleries and good restaurants. It is a slightly closer walk to the Mega Market, a store somewhat like a Walmart that has most items you might need. In our case it was to buy good wine. The wine at the hotel does not fit our tastes, although it is okay.

The hotel grounds are beautifully kept and the 3 swimming pools were always clean and fresh looking.

We particularly liked the breakfasts with lots of tasty and healthy choices. The lunches were also very good. The dinners, even though themed like Mexican, Italian, tropical, etc., were very similar with more limited choices. We began to eat a bigger lunch and then a smaller dinner to compensate. All in all, I felt the food was good; but if you are looking for gourmet, this is not the place.

We will be returning to the Holiday Inn in November this year and can hardly wait to see all the smiling faces and renew our acquaintances with all the wonderful people there. Oh, and to just relax.
