“Great beach-side location ... really good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Nestled in the cliffs, the hotel's rooms have "personal" views of the beautiful beach and ocean. Access to the beach is great ... and there are extensive areas for sitting, extended pools, and a variety of restaurants with excellent food. Service is outstanding ... from the moment one is offered a drink upon deboarding, to the constant attention to the condition of the beautiful rooms, to the pool-side service.

Many will complain about the complexity of the site (some in our group tried to memorize the series of elevators and buttons to push by memorizing 2-3-5-17 in an effort to remember the order of buttons to push on this elevator or that!) ... and charging $15 a day for wifi reminds me of the 1980s, or at least the good old internet dial-up days.

But I rate this as a solid 5 ... for location, service, food, and great memories.

It was our first time staying at Westin Cabo and wasn't sure what to expect given the past reviews about the quirky layout, to being inaccessible and out of the way. First things first - hotel service is great, everyone was very attentive and eager to help with any request. Hotel itself is typical resort hotel of its age, meaning it could use some TLC but still a Westin; rooms and amenities are fine, its not your house so not everything is going to be exactly as you would like it. Second - lots of compliant about getting around the hotel - this is only true if you are lazy and don't know how to read or follow directions. Food - expensive but that's true for all of Cabo; pool areas are great, although beach is rough, would not recommend going-in; we were lucky enough to have whales play about 100 yards out from the beach everyday, sight to see. Overall great experience, definitely a family orientated hotel, don't expect a lot singles type entertainment - kids will love the place. Its a good hotel with great service. And oh, those complaints about the pool swim-up bar music is true - management please stop the rap music playlist American or Mexican - it is annoying.

Room Tip: If you intend to move about Cabo and stay at the Westin, rent a car, getting around and exploring is...

Dear guest,

We are glad to hear that you had a great experience at our hotel. Our commitment is that our guests relax and enjoy our ocean front location and excellent weather. We are consistently investing in the property and maintaining our WESTIN Brand Standards up to date. I am happy you could see some whales which is a great spectacle.
We appreciate you recommendations regarding our very attentive and personalized service and apologize for the music on the pool which was taken care off already.

We look forward to your return trip, stay well

My wife and 3 year old daughter spent a week at this resort- as a SPG Platinum member, we got upgraded to an awesome room overlooking the ocean. We went to sleep every night with the sounds of the ocean crashing on the rocks outside our room. On the weekend, even when they were prepping for a large wedding, we never felt abandoned, with excellent service from the club lounge, to the pool or the restaurants. At the Casada restaurant, we were served every night by our waiter "Ener" who learned our names on day 1 and greeted my 3 year old as soon as he saw her. He remembered what we drank the night before and was courteous without being a pain. His manager Samuel seemed omnipresent at the resort and also got to know all of our names. The personal level of service was well appreciated and made our stay that much more enjoyable. Whether you're there for a long couples weekend or a week long spring break holiday, we highly recommend the Westin in Los Cabos!

Room Tip: upgrade to the Royal Beach Club rooms and get free breakfast and cocktails every day

We just returned from a seven day stay at the Westin. What a great time! The room was updated and clean, the staff was so accommodating and provided wonderful service. We saw whales every day from our room, the pools, and walking around the property. From the moment we arrived on property until we left, they provided a five star experience. The dining options were also first rate. The views from the restaurants were spectacular.

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean view, but I think all are.

We just got back from our trip to Los cabos and our stay at the Westin. Every time we turned we were given service above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. My children 14 and 11 years old were treated as adults by the staff which thrilled them. We saw at least one whale every day we were there. Pedro worked both the pool and the On The Rocks and his service made the trip that much better. As for him and prepare to find out what excellent service is all about. The view was amazing and the rooms were beautiful.

The Westin has a great location with multiple swimming pools and a great beach. The staff were very attentive, courteous, and accommodating. The hotel, though a little older compared to others in the area, has worked hard to keep it looking nice.

The restaurant, Arricifes, was fantastic. The service from the kitchen was a little slow, but with waiters like Jaime, who kept us calm with his courteousness, made the experience memorable. Sit at the outside terrace of the restaurant and you will eat under the stars.

Room Tip: All rooms are oceanfront. However, when facing the water, ask for the section on the right. It has u...

Just returned home from an 10 night stay at this property. We are a family of 5 with kids aged 15,12 and 6. We actually booked this property for 6 nights but it was such a fantastic location and experience that we stayed an extra few days. When checking in we were given the option to upgrade to a larger room. After looking at the suites we did opt to upgrade to the governors suite and stayed in that suite for most of our trip. The last night that we wanted to stay was completely booked, however, we were able to get at room.
Most review complaints that I have read mention the isolation of this property and the expense of getting into town. This is exactly the reason we chose this property location. Cabo is a party town with is typical for touristy destinations. The Westin is on a secluded section of beach and its very quiet. We rented a car and its an easy 10 min to San Jose and 15 to Cabo. We ended up going out to dinner most evenings in San Jose as Cabo is completely overpriced for everything.

The pools were great, my kids enjoyed them everyday. The beaches are tremendous, although the surf is to rough to swim unless your a triathlete. I will say that the food is very spendy on the property however, the RBC lounge was very nice and the food was good.

The staff is incredible. Delise, the front desk supervisor went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. She and Victor really did go the extra mile to accommodate our family with room selection. Valet, bellmen, housekeeping, were all extremely helpful.

We are not unpacked yet and looking forward to our next visit to this great property.

Room Tip: The RBC is worth the upgrade cost and are the rooms with the best view.
