“Great Food and Service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Party of four. First time at Sardina. Ate inside to avoid noise from road traffic. The service was terrific. Christian was our waiter and entertainer for a wonderful dinner. We had Rockefeller Halibut, Fish & Chips ( Halibut ) and the entries included selections of veg's and potatoes. We had the Au Gratin and it was great. The Halibut was fresh and large and cooked to perfection.
The best Fish and Chips we ever ate in our life. Lots of folks but the service was quick and friendly. Christian is an asset because he can do anything from sing, to dance, to serve and be the host that you would like to take home for your big party. Tell him we said Hello from Texas !

“Owner needs to improve his attitude towards customers!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

I have had a condo close to the Sardina Cantina restaurant for ten years. I have eaten at the restaurant many times over the years. The food is average, the restaurant is noisy from the traffic on the highway, but it is a local hangout and had been a fun place to go for a drink. A couple of years ago I was in the restaurant with a buddy. We had a few shots of tequila and dinner. When the bill came we were astounded at the price they charged for the tequila shots. A bottle of Cazadores costs $17 here. They were charging $10 per shot - $4 more than any other place in town. I went to talk to the owner and asked about the price. He basically told us too bad, that's the price and if you don't like it don't come back. Guess what - I've never walked into the place again and when we have friends come visit us we never recommend the restaurant. If the owner is as rude to other patrons as he was to us - I'm sure he will lose a lot of business! There are many other restaurants close by that offer great food, great service, and definitely look after their regular customers!

“A bad cruise-ship like dinner on land”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

While in San Jose, we went to Sardina Cantina based on the great reviews we read in Trip Advisor and it was very close to our condo. The restaurant ambiance is ok but right beside the busy highway. The food was too expensive from what we normally find in good restaurants in San Jose and reminded me of what's served on cruise ships - elaborate entrees that don't fit the location like shrimp wrapped in bacon. My boyfriend had a white fish served with a heavy cream sauce. The worst part of the meal was the surprise factor when seeing their charge for a margarita - $17 US dollars! We order better than the house tequila but no warning that the price would double. They also don't make it clear that you can only pay in cash for dinner. We love San Jose but will not be returning to Sardina.

“Would not be a trip to cabo without visiting this place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

Every year we fish in San Jose and every year we bring our catch to sardinas where they prepare the best meal for us. Atmosphere and friendly staff that goes out of there way for you makes this a cabo gem. Thank you every one at sardinas.

“$17 margaritas. Really?!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

We stopped in for dinner because we were staying nearby and wanted an easy meal within walking distance. It is on a very noisy highway with outside seating next to the road and limited indoor seating so we knew the atmosphere wouldn't be special but we didn't mind. The disappointing surprise was that the prices were high with entres at about $28 each and, no kidding, $17 Patron margaritas. The food was good but disappointing because it was too rich with bacon and cream rather than the fresh light seafood that we enjoy in Mexico. The waiters were friendly and service was fine but the prices are absolutely unwarranted. The bill ruined it for us considering the abundance of great meals to be had in much much nicer atmospheres than this. They do not take credit cards. We cannot recommend it.
