“Stunning”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2010

Was in Cabo during a recent cruise. The approach into Cabo is pretty amazing. The dry desert landscape coming up to the cool green ocean is quite a sight. The Arcos are a vision with the waves crashing up against them. It is pretty awesome that the buildings all blend into the hills and right up to the ocean. Nothing seems out of place. There is not much to do in the actual city. It seems to be a city of mainly shopping for souvenirs, timeshare presentations, or eating and drinking.
We enjoyed a 2 hours glass bottom boat trip out to the Arcos, which was worth every penny of our ten dollars. After that we ate some great food and washed our cares away with good Mexican beer.
It is place one must see, and I plan to come in Jan. 2011 to explore a little more of this desert city.

“An unexpectedly great time for all in Cabo San Lucas!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2010

Cabo San Lucas can be enjoyed by ALL!

In making vacation plans last summer, my three best travel buddies and I (females, early 30's) decided to go to Cabo to relax and release. We had a larger trip to India planned for the following month, so this Cabo trip was just thrown together as an appetizer. We found the newer resort chain, called the RIU, and they were offering a great price for an all-inclusive resort. So we quickly packed our sundresses & beachwear and away we went without much thought.

While walking through the airport after landing in Cabo, we got caught up in the timeshare hoopla. We made a conscious decision to actually ATTEND a timeshare presentation, as they were offering some very worthwhile perks. Since we were fun, single girls in our early 30's and didn't have much else to do in Cabo but hang out by the pool/ocean, we figured that all of the perks they were offering were worth our time (we are very frugal travelers and saved a lot of money by doing this). We signed up do attend a timeshare presentation in exchange for a day of hiking & zip lining, a sunset cruise one night, and also a snorkeling excursion on another day. I would not suggest to do this if you have alternative plans, things to do, or if you are traveling with a family. But, in our case, after signing up for these excursions in addition to the half day timeshare presentation - our lazy-day trip was now full of FUN, and we scheduled it all within 30 minutes of being in the city!

Daytime Activities:
During our first full day in Cabo we attended the timeshare presentation and saw a very nice resort. We contemplated the price, as it continued to get lower and lower while the margaritas kept coming and coming! This presentation was actually a lot of fun, but we did disappoint them by not investing in one.

Over the next 4 days, we zip-lined, hiked, went on a snorkeling excursion, and relaxed at the pool. I would suggest all of these activities while visiting Cabo San Lucas. I would also suggest a sunset cruise, as the light at dusk is just beautiful. Our sunset cruise was geared towards younger people and was a "booze cruise" - unlimited liquor and also gave us a small meal. If I had a family I would definitely take a sunset cruise that offered just a meal...the "booze cruise" had loud music and would not be appropriate for children.

We also rented wave runners one day and had a ball. We saw the seals relaxing on the rocks next to the arc. The water was not too rough and we felt very safe. Another afternoon, we went into town and shopped the local markets for souvenirs, etc. We also felt very safe exploring the city and all of the locals we met were very warm and friendly. We travel a lot and we felt very comfortable here.

Nightlife:
We also attempted to "go out" to the clubs at night. We decided that the clubs/bars in Cabo would have been a better experience if we were somewhat younger (early - mid 20's) and drank more liquor! We went to Squid Roe, The Nowhere Bar, Hard Rock Cafe, Cabo Wabo, and a few lounges/bars in the same area. They are all in the same area and are very easy to get to. Once you get there, you can walk to any of the clubs/bars/lounges. There is a mix of people at all of these venues, but they are mostly tourists. If you are a person who enjoys tequila, then Cabo is definitely a place for you! Squid Roe is a fun place to be...the venue itself is interesting and you can walk around looking at the decor & signs for an hour! However, we did have a good time, even though we chose not to have too many drinks.

Food:
As we stayed at the RIU Santa Fe, an all-inclusive resort, we got a great bang for our buck by eating all 3 meals on the resort property, The food at the RIU Santa Fe was great, and we enjoyed the dinner most of all. We attempted to eat at their other "restaurants" on the property, but we just found that is was a more formal way to experience the same food (and it took longer!) Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions on any good, authentic Mexican food restaurants in Cabo.

In conclusion, Cabo is a great city for ALL AGES. There are so many things to do (if you want), or you can make it a very relaxing trip by doing nothing! Cabo can be enjoyed by young singles, newylweds (we saw a wedding on the beach one day), middle-aged friends, large groups, families, etc! The people are friendly and all speak English. It is a safe place & a wonderful city!

“Gotta love Cabo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2010

We had an amazing time in Cabo San Lucas. There is something here for everyone - couples, family, singles. When we were there we saw many wedding parties, which shows that you can please everyone at this beautiful sun drenched destination. We stayed at the Pueblo Bonita Rose, but all of its sister properties are gorgeous as well. The staff was friendly, everything was very clean, and it was close to town, which was convenient! I highly recommend it!!!

“Quant mexican resort”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2010

Just visited Cabo for the first time in August 2010. Everyone has been raving about this place for years so I had to go see what it was all about. Glad I did. Nice quaint town of Cabo, great people. I love th elocals they are sincere hard working people who understand the value of good service and the tourists dollard,or pesos in this case. August was a great time to go- not too hot and not too crowded. Shopping at the local market was great, great bargains and the local food was wonderful. Go for the fish tacos at any of the local restaurants and you wont be let down. they freshness and authentic preparation is noted and great appreciated.Salomons resturant & bar- great food, great service, great drinks!
