Such an amazingly beautiful place. Now This is a very small town. You can almost walk anywhere you want to go if you can stand the heat. I love the sun since I don't see it much living in SF.
So, when I first arrived I paid an outragous taxi fair ($20) from one end of town to the other. Once I made a couple of local friends I learned that I could take a trip in a taxi 5 times the distance for 1/4 of the price. Crazy! Once I learned that, everytime I grabed a taxi I asked the amount before going and then I told them No way, and why so much. I told them how much I wanted to pay and sometimes they refused then I just went to the next taxi in line. It really amazed me how stupid they think Americans are. Well, I guess at time we are.
I watched a drunk couple get a Taxi in front of the Buddah bar (I will tell more about that place later) and I walked over to Squid Row. Then that same drunk couple got out of the taxi at Squid Row and paid $20USD. The two places aren't even a block away from one another. That's why I walked.

I suggest you do a little homework and save yourself some money.

Now, I was really shocked to see the racism/classism in Cabo.
My Mexican friends and I went to the Buddah Bar. We sat down and patiently awaited our server who came over not to take our drink order but to let us know if there were other people who wanted our seats we would have to move. He explained that the table was only for bottle service. There was no bottle service set up or any reserved sign when we sat down.

As he walked away we all felt very uncomfortable. He never offered to take our order. And we sat there wondering if we should just leave. We didn't leave until 5 min later our server brought over a reserved sign and placed it on our table. At that point we left.

They were so rude and not at all welcoming to us.
At the hotel I asked what was the deal with the Buddah Bar. And the guy behind the desk just kindly said it was a place for "Rich Old Guys who are on some much drugs they think they're young" And their paid escorts....
WOW, I couldn't believe he was so straight forward with the description.

He then advised us to a wonderful spot with live music Arriba Tequilla. It is upstairs from the resturant Quesadillas.
The next night we went there and danced all night. We had so much fun and the server actualy took our order :)

Cabo is Fun but you really have to search for the right spot for you.

The topography of Cabo is an anonomy; a desert with an ocean view. This is pretty cool, as it makes the entire area one big beach. There is much to be seen and done in Cabo, there are many fantastic beaches and views.

A consistent favorite is a trip to Lovers Beach, this is where the blue Pacific meets the fabled Sea of Cortez. It is a stunning beach, however it does not appear the two seas don't fancy each other as the ferociry of the surf where they meet is epic.

Lovers beach is dry (so bring your own food/drink) and is only accessible via boat. The good news is that hiring a water taxi is a very simple task in the marina.

Other attractions to Cabo include the fantatic night life. This town knows how to party! Blcok after block of pumping music, tequila shots and party attitude make nights in Cabo an adventure.

This travler to Cabo San Lucas stayed at the "Tesoro Las Cabos" in the middle of downtown Cabo. It has a great location, and serves a fantastic base camp, but the food is pretty bad.

One thing to consider about picking your place to stay in Cabo is the rip-tide. It hits Cabo so strong many beaches are un-swimable. Most hotels will have an offsite beach club where you can swim, but check if that beach club is out the door or up the road.

Travels to Cabo San Lucas will have a great time if they really like it hot, surface of the sun hot. Also, if you like time shares or simply being asked to attend time share presentations, Cabo is your place!

We first heard about Maro's from a frequent Cabo visitor. We then read article about the change of ownership it went through and its new location. We were very impressed with the quality of the seafood we had and the famous Bulldog Drink. My wife and shared a 1/4K lobster and 1/4K shrimp meal. I have eaten shrimp and lobster many times in my life and this was as good as any in the past. The chips and salsa are also very good and you have to try the Bulldog, which is a blend of "Tekillya", limeade and a Coronita in a large glass. Tasty and tangy at the same time.

Cabo is said to be one of the most expensive holiday spots in Mexico. We stayed in the cheapest hotel we could find and was around $30US a night. The shoreline of Cabo is littered with massive expensive resorts, which seem to be too far away from the party (assuming thats what you are there for). The night life in Cabo is pretty awesome. Lots of bars offering different forms of ambience. The city is pretty safe assuming you dont wander through the back streets drunked late at night. Everyone in the town can sell you drugs. I mean everyone! There is a pretty good vibe in the town as it is built on Americano touristas money. Probably the best service I saw in Mex, best atmosphere and probably the most to do.

We were in Cabo over Memorial Day wekend and having grown tired of the typical Mexican cuisine, we stumbled into the DOC Wine Bar, located next to the over-rated Mi Casa, in the Plaza Amelia Wilkes in Cabo.

The wine selections were refreshing, as a large number of them originated in Mexico. The entrees and smaller dishes varied on a nightly basis and the staff went out of their way to help.

The DOC Wine Bar is a must visit for those who are tired of bad margaritas & cheap beer.
