“Cabo - Mexican Resort town and party central.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2009

The topography of Cabo is an anonomy; a desert with an ocean view. This is pretty cool, as it makes the entire area one big beach. There is much to be seen and done in Cabo, there are many fantastic beaches and views.

A consistent favorite is a trip to Lovers Beach, this is where the blue Pacific meets the fabled Sea of Cortez. It is a stunning beach, however it does not appear the two seas don't fancy each other as the ferociry of the surf where they meet is epic.

Lovers beach is dry (so bring your own food/drink) and is only accessible via boat. The good news is that hiring a water taxi is a very simple task in the marina.

Other attractions to Cabo include the fantatic night life. This town knows how to party! Blcok after block of pumping music, tequila shots and party attitude make nights in Cabo an adventure.

This travler to Cabo San Lucas stayed at the "Tesoro Las Cabos" in the middle of downtown Cabo. It has a great location, and serves a fantastic base camp, but the food is pretty bad.

One thing to consider about picking your place to stay in Cabo is the rip-tide. It hits Cabo so strong many beaches are un-swimable. Most hotels will have an offsite beach club where you can swim, but check if that beach club is out the door or up the road.

Travels to Cabo San Lucas will have a great time if they really like it hot, surface of the sun hot. Also, if you like time shares or simply being asked to attend time share presentations, Cabo is your place!

“Maros's Shrimp House”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2009

We first heard about Maro's from a frequent Cabo visitor. We then read article about the change of ownership it went through and its new location. We were very impressed with the quality of the seafood we had and the famous Bulldog Drink. My wife and shared a 1/4K lobster and 1/4K shrimp meal. I have eaten shrimp and lobster many times in my life and this was as good as any in the past. The chips and salsa are also very good and you have to try the Bulldog, which is a blend of "Tekillya", limeade and a Coronita in a large glass. Tasty and tangy at the same time.

“Fun at a price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2009

Cabo is said to be one of the most expensive holiday spots in Mexico. We stayed in the cheapest hotel we could find and was around $30US a night. The shoreline of Cabo is littered with massive expensive resorts, which seem to be too far away from the party (assuming thats what you are there for). The night life in Cabo is pretty awesome. Lots of bars offering different forms of ambience. The city is pretty safe assuming you dont wander through the back streets drunked late at night. Everyone in the town can sell you drugs. I mean everyone! There is a pretty good vibe in the town as it is built on Americano touristas money. Probably the best service I saw in Mex, best atmosphere and probably the most to do.

“DOC Wine Bar - A Sonoma experience in Cabo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2009

We were in Cabo over Memorial Day wekend and having grown tired of the typical Mexican cuisine, we stumbled into the DOC Wine Bar, located next to the over-rated Mi Casa, in the Plaza Amelia Wilkes in Cabo.

The wine selections were refreshing, as a large number of them originated in Mexico. The entrees and smaller dishes varied on a nightly basis and the staff went out of their way to help.

The DOC Wine Bar is a must visit for those who are tired of bad margaritas & cheap beer.

“Trip Report 4-15 thru 5-16”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2009

First of all my wife, Kris, and I would like to thank all the TA families for the great Gordo Lele's parties (went to 3) restaurant tips, and sites to see. They all were all so Awesome! We have been coming to Cabo for four years and this was one of the best.

Here goes, we stayed two weeks at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach and one week at Pueblo Bonito Blanco Los Cabos. PBSB is beautiful and they upgraded are junior suite room the first week to a 1 Bdrm suite so both weeks we were able to stay in the same room which was great. The service, grounds and people who work there are wonderful. They did shut down two pools due to lack of occupancy at the resort. But you had three other pools to go to, so no big deal.

During our stay at PBSB we did go to Los Barriles and met my brother-in-law and fiancee to go fishing. We stayed at the Palmas De Cortez for two nights. The resort is definitely a haven for fisherman as Kris would say. The rooms are definitely not as plush as PBSB's. We did have great fishing. I caught some dorado's, rooster fish, and a 180 lb. marlin. Struggled for 45 minutes to get that fish. Did release it but my brother-in-law kept his 120lb Marlin and he had it fillet and smoked. Marlin smoked tastes just like ham. OOOh so Good! Girls just sat at the pool area all day and enjoyed their cocktails.

Went to 3 TA gatherings and everyone was wonderful and fun. Javier was so much fun and entertaining. My brother-in-law and his fiancee (Kim) enjoyed the gatherings also. Kim had such fun singing along with Javier.

Restaurants we enjoyed were:

GORDO LELE'S - Ate 5 times there. Carna Asada and Shrimp Tacos were excellent.
MARO'S SHRIMP HOUSE -Ate 2 times there - Bull Dog drinks were fantastic and the shrimps were so large and yummy.
MAMA ROYALES -Ate 2 times there - French Toast with cream cheese, banana's and pecans just melted in your mouth.
MI CASA - Was good but definitely pricey
SALVATORES - Went there when they didn't serve Lasagne but we had Rigatoni and Shrimp Fettucine and their servings were huge. Best Italian food !
PANCHOS - Good Mexican food and drinks. Reasonably priced.
LA FONDA -Good but Pricey. We had Skirt Steak with BBQ Whiskey Sauce.
SENOR SWEETS - Great desserts. Had fun meeting up with New Grama, Lyndi and Marcie. Then we met up with Lyndi again just by chance and shared an icecream.
CILANTRO'S - At Pueblo Bonito Blanco - Great dinners. One night they made our marlin we supplied and they blackened and breaded it. It was soooo gooood.
RIPS - Great place to just hang out!

Went to Todos Santos and had the fantastic margarita at Tequila Sunrise Grill. Have the recipe so we can enjoy that drink at our 4th of July gathering here at home.

Art-N-Beer - What a strange but fun place. Enjoyed a Pina Colada there in a pineapple and the drink just kept coming. She made a pitcher of them. Definitely this is a stop that you should
see.

Cerrito's Beach - Enjoyed seeing the beach where they surf. Enjoyed cocktails there. The road to the beach was like riding on a ATV Trail. Lot of Bumps...

Last week we stayed at Pueblo Bonito Blanco . We had a 1 bdrm suite on the fifth floor, room 516, great view.

Vacation was excellent and can't wait to go back. The TA families we met ROCK! Lyndi, Pammy P, New Grama, Vasnos, Nazclk, Pacific NW, dalababe, Grey 604, Marcie, Summyr and everyone else I missed. Hope to see all of you next year!

Ken and Kris
