“this hotel saved Cabo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

the hotel was amazing. The views from the 5th floor was marvelous. The Jr. Suite room was spacious, with a living room and full kitchen. The staff cleaned the room twice a day. The water pressure and temperature was very strong and lots of heat. The bathtub was big. The swimming pool areas were very clean, maintained well. The restaurants were decent, but pricey. The happy hour at the pool everyday was a bonus with good music. Nice relaxing place to hang out , not the Cabo pool party crazy but very classy and family friendly. The free access to the spa was a great suprise and greatly needed after a long day of noisy Mango music in the background. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only down side, which is why i gave the hotel a four star instead of 5 is that from the very start they offered us discounts and a timeshare/travel club presentation, which was very great and friendly in the beginning, but they were very persistent in giving us a deal when finally we signed thinking it was a good deal with GlobeQuest, but upon realizing that the benefit they advertised was not guaranteed in the contract, we went back to ask for a refund or a guarantee of the benefits and the GlobeQuest people didn't go for it. Actually they were not nice. The salesperson Alberto Garcia, the manager Kiko were trying to get us better and better deals, but because the real benefit I wanted wasn't guaranteed like they said it would, I didn't go for it. The person Sergio Parra who they presented as someone who was there for us, as customers, wasn't really- he worked for the company globalquest and accused me of being emotional etc etc and wasn't very nice, actually he was demeaning and he wasn't belittling. We went there in order to give them a chance to explain why the contract didn't include the real benefit and the free hot weeks we were promised and why the free week we were offered at Cancun wasn't really a free week after we read the fine print... At the end they said that they couldn't offer us a letter stating that we went back to them after two days and requested a refund and that everything was now sent to Miami office and we had to go through them to get a refund. At the presentation, they also had us sign a no refund document, which is illegal and they also had me sign that there was no alcohol given during the singing of the deal , which was false because they were offering drinks left and right and I felt obliged to sign...these people only cared about the dollar bills and not really about building a relationship with people who come through their doors. Also coming home, I checked and they charged my card $146 for no reason...For this, they ruined the vacation...The hotel and the very friendly staff saved this Cabo trip but these Global Quest people left a really bad taste of Cabo in my mouth...When you value money more than relationships...it doesn't go well... I don't think I will be coming back to Casa Dorada or Cabo real soon...And these people told me it doesn't matter because they have millions spend on marketing...etc etc...such GREAT things to say and way to treat your customers who were very respectful in making our requests

Room Tip: choose the 5th or 6th floor, lower numbers like 503 had best view of the sunrise

We adore this hotel and all the people who work at this lovely and charming boutique style hotel.
We just returned from a week trip and find the property a joy to experience! You can easily walk into town and a number of terrific restaurants. Each year, we meet other returning guests who love this hotel as much as we love it! Service is also terrific! The suites are very comfortable and the views from the rooms are spectacular! We cannot say enough good things about Casa Dorada!

First time to Cabo. I did a lot of research before selecting Casa Dorada. Got the junior suite. Beautiful! Cool at night and slept with the balcony doors open listening to the waves at night and the seals playing in the bay in the morning. The staff was very helpful and nice. Walked into town to the marina, shopping, and flea market. Always felt very comfortable and safe. Definitely want to return!

Room Tip: Stayed in 625 - great location for quietness and view of the bay!

We recently returned from an 8 night stay at this gorgeous property. This was our first stay and we will definately return. We own timeshares at other properties in Cabo that we love and will continue to go to but this is probably the best resort on Medano.

From the mango margarita we received at check-in to the gorgeous room (we had 622) everything about our stay was perfect! The only negative I can even talk about is that the tiles on the lower pool are coming out and the edges are very, very sharp. They are planning on re-doing this pool very soon so it will be an all smooth surface like the upper pool and then everything will be perfect! Be careful not to cut your foot until this is done.

We have several breakfasts and one dinner at the resort as well as numerous poolside drinks. Everywhere we went the service was amazing! The breakfast buffet was delicious (try the smoothies!) and very reasonable at about $15/pp compared to other places. The made to order omettes were also very good.

We had our anniversay dinner at 12 Tribes- the best meal of our 15 night trip! Try the lobster bisque and the crab cakes- very, very good. I had the parrot fish main course which I had never had- amazing! Thank you for making our special night even more special.

The rooms are modern and spotlessly clean and we enjoyed many evenings sipping cocktails on our balcony enjoying the view of Land's End.

This resort is in a great location with plenty of bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Or you can easily walk into town via the marina for even more dining choices. No need for cabs when staying here.

I just booked our next anniversary trip for next year- Can't wait!

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor for the best view but the ground floor would be great as well for easy pool acc...

Casa Dorada Medano Beach has breathtaking views, excellent service and its location makes it the #1 resort to visit in Cabo. Every room has a beautiful view of Medano Beach and the bay. The rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. The town and busy marina surrounded by restaurants, bars and shopping are only a 5-10 minute walk. As soon as you walk through their doors you are greeted with smiling faces---- everyone is there to make sure you have a wonderful stay.

What a great hotel/location!! There is none other that trumpet this place... Yes I own timeshare there, and go there every year... I would NEVER swap for another location although I can through Interval.....the staff are fantastic :) , ......but can get tied up in rules..:( ( As an owner,I had a problem getting day passes)
If you need any thing, assistance BEFORE you get there, rooms, special arrangements, , info, local spots etc..etc etc ....get a hold of Fernando Lugo,( fernando.lugo@casadorada.com )he is fantastic and will help with all your needs.... However he can't help once you are there... so contact him early for a perfect stay. IT DOESNT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS. ps.. you don't need a car at this location!! walk every where from here!!

Room Tip: High for view... low for quiet... the higher rooms get the noise from the beach... but they get a gr...

I recently booked Casa Dorado through an exchange with my time share company. The photos were true to real life. Everything was beautiful. I only travel to upscale resorts and 4 to 5 star resorts. The rooms are clean, updated and very large. My husband and I had a 2 bedroom suite. The master suite has a King bed, jacuzzi tub, and large shower as well as private balcony. The Living room and Kitchen are separate and are leading out to a balcony. The second bedroom had 2 double beds and its own bathroom and kitchenette with it's own balcony. My in-laws came with us and loved it so much they bought a Penthouse suite!!!
The Service was Amazing...the Restaurant very good. My Husband asked the Chef for something special and he was able to accommodate his requests.
The Spa is truly a lovely break from the busy beach and included in your stay. Utilize the steam ,sauna and refreshing cool bath. Treat yourself to a Massage .
If we had any questions or concerns the staff was more than willing to assist us and provide what ever we needed.

Great Location for fun, shopping and Activities!!!

Room Tip: All the rooms have a view.
