Wasn't sure of what to expect considering the mixed reviews of the property. We traded a timeshare week for Playa Del Sol mainly because of its location close to great surf beaches and quaint town of San Jose Del Cabo. Wow! pleasantly surprised! New room with a ocean view, wonderful service, and not as loud and obnoxious as a large resort in Cabo. Kids loved the pool and hearing the waves crash on the shore each night was soothing.

We exchanged a week in a five star resort in Cancun through Interval for Playa del Sol. I read some of the reviews and asked ahead of time to be put into the new building. We were not. I asked to be moved multiple times throughout the week and was told in a parrot like way that they were full and there was no room in the new building. Old building description...stained curtains and spreads, chipped and stained tile, flickering lights, cupboards hanging off hinges, crusty tinfoil lined burners on the stove, missing shelves in the refrigerator, musty smell, located near the noisy road. We also sat through a timeshare presentation there and were shown the new rooms. They were indeed beautiful, and guess what? If we bought a timeshare, they could miraculously move us to the new building, because "they take care of their members". Cabo is lovely, and a timeshare was not out of the realm of possibility, but there is not a chance I would buy anywhere that uses these tactics and that would let the old building get to the condition it is in. In my opinion, it is not worth the risk to stay here because you, too, may end up in the old building/hotel hell instead of the new building/hotel heaven.

I went with my husband this past October and we really like it, the people at playa were very nice especially Gabriel at the front desk was very helpfull and ofcourse we can't forget Maria at the pool bar she was great !!!!!!

Be aware that what you see in the Interval International website has nothing to do with the acommodations this place offers.
I should have read Trip Advisor before trading a 2BD Five* for a NOISY room next to the highway, unfortunately my experience is very similar to the prior reviews.
The staff has become acostumed to the complaints, the manager Tonya Baltazar displayed a very well rehearsed attitud of "that is all that we have"
Places like Playa del Sol Los Cabos fuel the current skepticism over the FAIR value trade perform by Interval International....one of their advisor should check the dilapidated beds on RM 509, Rm 411, I was moved three times....after going daily to the front desk and letting everyone know that it is "Fraud" what is being committed toward the tourist.
I pray that future travelers read Trip Advisor and other similar postings to became aware of the abuses before they personally experience them.
